Here's a fact you seem to be missing - anyone can file a lawsuit - that's not a sign of guilt, its merely your legal right. The trick is to win. Personally, I'm waiting for the press conference youll hold when you get awarded 20 million dollars - but I'm not holding my breath.
ReplyDeleteAnd if kolko's smart, after he wins, he'll sue you and subpoena john doe #1 to testify.
Anonymous # 1 above....
ReplyDeleteI promise to hold a press conference when we turn Torah Temimah into a luxury condominium complex...
UOJ
ReplyDeleteTake themm all down. All the hypocritical losers. I have watched this from afar, but you went out of your way to give these alleged thugs a way to end this peacefully without a chilul Hashem. They have brought this upon themselves in so many ways. All the big-time rabonim are excellent at banning this and that but when it comes to some real character, a show of leadership on a matter that truly counts, they are nowhere to be found. The rabonim are the true midgets of this generation, people like R. Slifkin are the heros. Rav Matisyawho got it all wrong.
Only two victims? where are the "countless families that have been destroyed by kolko"?
ReplyDeleteNow the media will start to contact the Aguda and Torah U-Mesora etc and what will everyone say? "No Comment." Nobody will even have the guts to say "If there are sexual predators in our schools then we have to get rid of them." Is it because their own power is more important to them than the innocence of children??? Then everyone will learn how the aguda fought againts mandatory reporting of abuse - why, that would stop the next kolko, and the aguda does not want that, no not at all. These guys are rotting within, they are on their way to be obsolete - not because of frumkeit, like everyone thought, but because of their lack on normal integration in the broader society. You see what happens when you only sit in yeshiva in America?
ReplyDeleteAs a personal favor to all of the detractors of UOJ over the last few months, I will post one post, summing up your positions, so you don't have to all actually come here and eat your crow. You see, the point is not that you were wrong. The point is also not the others were right. Rather, the point is that there was systematic abuse by frum people of frum people covered up by other frum people and you chose not to see it.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you refused to see it, may well be because you have such a strong belief in the goodness of man and belief in the ability of Judaism to elevate its adherents above the immoral. Well, clearly, the event that have unfolded are a great example that frum Judaism is about two distinct things. The Torah, and the people. When you have bad people operating under the cloak of yidishkeit, that should be exposed. It does not translate into an attack on the Torah, but rather an attack on bad people.
We need to open our eyes to the fact that if we don't confront our problems internally, then they will confront us publicly and externally. This is just one example where Rabbis and leaders had an incredible amount of time to make changes, and they have failed us. We too, the regular people, have failed our children.
You have said that you agree that this should be investigated, but that this was not the right way to go about it. Did you have a better way? Did you even try another way? Our system had made it that there was no other way.
You have said that UOJ is a rasha because he said nasty things about our beloved rabbis, so his claims could not possibly be true. Well, they were true, regardless of who it was that brought them to attention. Disliking him as a person is an appropriate reaction . Disbelieving him because of his person is an inappropriate reaction.
This is not the time to circle the waggons. It is time to open them to the long-needed scrutiny. Let us seize this opportunity to fix that which is broken and go mechayil el chuyil.
Only two have come forward with the suit. That doesn't mean there aren't any more, you schmuck.
ReplyDeleteBut no one was oiver any aveyrah. There is no shomer negiah issues between men and they were both wearing pants the whole time. The fact that the Americans (phuyee) don't allow this behavior is irrelevant. As R Scheinberg said, there was no abuse. End of story. As I heard R Levin put it so eloquently, 'u'vizkaynaynu esbonen' which means 'in our elders I will seek counsel and become wise'. We must listen to the daas torah over here and they aren't saying anything.
ReplyDeleteRemember Bill Clinton - I did not have sex with that woman, well it depends on how you define sex, and I guess it also depends on how you define woman. And we all laughed. Now it's our turn. Yidi - I did not have sex with that boy. Well it depends on what sex is and depends what a boy is. We're going to look ridiculuous! R Margolis ordering R Scheinberg to tell the boy that there was no abuse - laughable.
ReplyDeleteWIll it be in the NY Mag this weekend?
UOJ! You did it! I knew you would!! Baruch Hashem! By the way my daughter is still single if you know someone, she is not a beauty but a great cook. A lovely girl.
ReplyDeleteI plan on being at the press conference today. Thank you for letting us know, and this should quiet all the naysayers.
Yasher Koach UOJ!
It pains me to see Camp Agudah painted with a brush of baseless accusations. I believe in their innocence. The case seems contrived.
ReplyDeletePedophiles are bad, no mistake there, but I wonder if creating this chillul Hashem is worthy of the effort. Vengeance is mine, saith uoj.
If the new luxury complex is your development project, it will be a Kiddush Hashem?
Where are you, Gary Rosenblatt?
If you are holding a press conference, I assume that means ther will be media present. Who are you expecting?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous I wonder what kind of psychopath wonders if stopping pedophiles is worthy of the effort?! I guess they are not bad enough in your warped mind.
ReplyDeletehey anon;
ReplyDeleteyou got a problem with hoisting a petard. Come over here and hoist this!
Hey EndUOJ,
ReplyDeleteI will be there, so will the world media.
See You!
UOJ, are you going to identify yourself? Are you related to the victims?
ReplyDeleteWhat channel should I watch? Will it be on the radio?
As with everything that UOJ has done over the last few months, we can not take his word or any document that he displays at face value. I am not familiar with the legal system, but I would bet that this case wasnt even filed with the court. Just because an attorney typed up and signed this document, we dont know for sure that it was filed in the appropriate court. Anyone can type this up, or buy a form at their local office supply store. Lets wait and see what happens before we all congratulate UOJ on his big move.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, regarding the press conference, lets wait until 2:00 to see if it actuallt occurs and who will be there. I wouldnt put it past UOJ that this is just hype and scare tacticts. Lets see what happens today at 2:00.
Just as a side thought--why is the press conference called for 2:00 on friday afternoon when nobody is at the yeshiva? it would make more sense to do it during dismissal time (12:30), when the boys, and their parents who pick them up, can see what is going on. It would surely get more spotlight and attention than it will at 2:00. It looks like another pathetic & pointless move by UOJ that he wants to be padded on the back for. YAY!!!!
I've got tonight's news TiVo'ed. I'll sell copies of the videos after shabbos, bli neder.
ReplyDelete"I wonder if creating this chillul Hashem is worthy of the effort. Vengeance is mine, saith uoj"
ReplyDeleteThis anonymous comment is an obscene and filthy remark. It demonstrates the incredibly obtuse and narrow-minded thinking that plagues the frum world today. Shame on the author.
UOJ, the attorneys, or the accusers have created no chillul Hashem. YIDI KOLKO created it when he failed to control his urge to masturbate against young boys entrusted to his care. YIDI KOLKO created the chillul hashem when he failed to marshall his perverse inclinations. LIPA furthered the chillul by trying to wash this disgrace away.
The mere suggestion that an accuser has created a chillul hashem by seeking relief from duly constituted authority AFTER the accused have IGNORED and REFUSED to appear before a beis din to prove their innocense, is an immature and uneducated response to a very appropriate act. Anonymous, get yourself checked out by a professional. You need help.
KOLKO has had THIRTY (30) YEARS to address his compulsions, or to clear his name. He deserves his day in court, and now with the filing of this suit he won't be able to weasel his way around the essentially inept beis din system we have avaialable to us.
has the lawsuit actually been filed ? it has no case number stamp.
ReplyDeleteI hope this isn't some ploy to get people to show their faces. Then again, maybe that wouldn't be a bad idea.
ReplyDelete"Fed up with this crap said...
ReplyDeleteBut no one was oiver any aveyrah. There is no shomer negiah issues between men and they were both wearing pants the whole time. The fact that the Americans (phuyee) don't allow this behavior is irrelevant"
This poster should be sterilized never to have children. Because he wouldn't care if a stranger gratified himself on his own child, leaving the child abused, denigrated and torn for life. Is there a Jew alive that thinks this way? Nebach indeed.
No aveirah was commited? You Onanite freak, your torah is not THE Torah. It is an absolute aveirah of the worst kind to trap someone under age, and sexually gratify yourself in any way. Your suggestion is like saying its okay to chew pork as long as you don't swallow. Indeed you yourself are a pig, suggesting that cloven hoof is proof enough of kashrus.
But listen, if you don't mind that kind of abuse, maybe you could move in to Kolko's basement, wear a leash, and give new meaning to the term hoiz buchur.
just got a call that news trucks are in front of the yeshiva now...
ReplyDeleteNu..anything happened?
ReplyDeleteits now 3:00. any updates as to what happened at the press conference?
ReplyDeleteendUOj - how will he know who to waive to? tell us who you are already.
ReplyDeleteBaal H. Bos, I think you missed his sarcasm. At least that was my take.
ReplyDeleteCAn transcripts to the event be posted please? If not here then perhaps on a different web site? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteUOJ,
ReplyDeleteIf these reports are true about reporters camped out by Yudi Kolko / Rabbi Weinfeld's shul, are you able to upload video feed to your blog ? This will be on the TV websites or maybe some amateur in the East 20s with a camcorder can email it to you in the next hour.
The major media organizations were there, it headlined on the six o'clock news on channel five; will be published in the national and international press, but the fight has just begun.
ReplyDeleteI will not rest until Margulies & Kolko are gone from the scene forever, and the victims are vindicated and compensated for their lives being destroyed.
Nobody should doubt my resolve, abilities or creativity in getting this job completed.
Uh huh. Sure. International press. My, what big delusions you have.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing on the Fox 5 WNYW TV website. Is this anywhere on the web ?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a headline that says: "Kolko and Margo are finished, and that's the way it is"
He must be referring to what his namesake has wrought in YTT:

"All people have suffered cruelty," said Rabbi Simeon Kolko of Temple Israel in Vestal. "But it's this day that we remember the cruelty suffered by the House of Israel."
Just as a side thought--why is the press conference called for 2:00 on friday afternoon when nobody is at the yeshiva? it would make more sense to do it during dismissal time (12:30), when the boys, and their parents who pick them up, can see what is going on.
ReplyDelete=======================
You sick bastard. What kind of demented person suggests that UOJ is wrong for sparing hundreds of kids the sad memory of the media hounds massed outside their yeshiva to hear their rebbe accused of the most inhumane crimes.
You must be a Torah Temimah graduate.
Does Kolko go to Weinfeld's shul on Shabbos with all the media people outside his house or does he barricade himself under his bed ?
ReplyDeleteOh no Kolko, the sky is falling, you must go tell King Margo !
Was there any other way?

Rabbi in sex suit
Ex-students seek $20M
BY AUSTIN FENNER
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
A Brooklyn rabbi and his yeshiva were hit with a $20 million civil lawsuit yesterday, accusing him of molesting two students more than 25 years ago.
One of the alleged victims said Rabbi Yehuda Kolko, 60, sexually assaulted him when he was a seventh-grade student attending Yeshiva-Mesivta Torah Temimah, an Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, religious school.
"It happened in his car on the way to school and at recess during summer camp," the 48-year-old man said at a press conference.
The plaintiff, identified by his Miami lawyer, Jeffrey Herman, only as John Doe No. 1, was allegedly molested during the early 1970s over a two-year period, Herman said.
The alleged victim charges that Kolko had instructed him to sit on his lap and hold the steering wheel while they were in Kolko's car on the way to school as the rabbi molested him.
Herman, who claims there are at least 15 victims, charges that school officials waged a campaign of intimidation and concealment against victims and their families to bury the accusations against the rabbi.
School officials could not be reached for comment.
Kolko, who lives in Midwood in a red-brick house on E. 22nd St., could not be reached for comment.
The other plaintiff, who was not present, was identified as a 38-year-old man who was allegedly sexually abused when he was also a seventh-grader in the 1980s.
The alleged offenses exceed New York's three-year statute of limitations.

What a putz.
Was on Channel 11 news Friday night as well. As UOJ said, this is just the beginning.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Margo's enablement of Kolko:

A Democratic representative in Long Island's Nassau County filed a lawsuit against Google on Thursday, accusing the company of making billions of dollars from child pornography.
Delegate Jeffrey Toback filed the complaint, charging the Internet search giant with "putting child pornography profits ahead of the well-being of children and community members."
In the lawsuit, Toback claims that the multibillion-dollar company makes its money, in part, by "facilitating deviant criminals in the procurement, transfer, and marketing of illicit and patently illegal material, including child pornography."
Oy shrecklach, what am I going to do ? If I censor the Kolko and Margo scandal out of my paper like I usually do in these kinds of cases, I am going to look pretty dumb.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations you pulled it off!It took you along time and you needed alot of vaseline, butt you got even with kolko for ramming you
Why dont you join the suit? Was imptence a factor in your divorce? it will be fun to see you in the spotlight
good luck!

Whoa have I been busy since 2 pm erev Shabbos. I have to arrange with a tailor, custom made orange bekishes with matching orange hats (prison jumpsuit color) for Kolko and Margo. Margo, who is scared to come out of his house, demanded a case of extra-strength Maalox, no later than 5 pm, as if I'm his hoiz bochur or something. George Pataki has already sent the word out that he's not granting clemency for these two losers.

ReplyDeletethis will not be alowed b/c of something called claim preclusion/ res judicata. the court will most likely find this a compulsory counterclaim pursuant to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 13g and recent cases which have held that claim preclusion bars a ptf from claiming a claim that,as a defendant, he had to claim. So this will not be allowed unless he counter claims right now.

ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a news blackout on this issue in the Jewish world. No other blogger has picked up this juicy story. Any theories? When will they finally print it?
ReplyDeleteChaptzem has put up the story.

how could you [margolis and those other "rabbi's" and "esteemded community leaders"] have knowingly placed me in harms way -i dont rmemebr being abused -but i could've been because of of your inaction. It is no wonder that i didnt really believe or feel real about any spirituality or religious matters until i left torah temimah - a school hiding such characters has inherent flaws that infects its very essence and certainly cannot have taught religion purely. While i may not have been damaged physically i certainly lost out spiritually by "learning" in such a school.

ReplyDeleteFYI Anyone contributing to this year's YTT Dinner is just paying for Herman's new BMW. I hope you realize that.
I think I'm going to davin at the local yeshiva gedola on my father's yahrzeit later this summer. The students and faculty there think that I'm an apikores (not that these half illiterates know what an Epicurean is). I'll dig out my black hat, wear a black sport coat and insist that as a yahrzeit I have a chiyuv. I want all of those lovely upstanding Jews to have to be yotze on my davining.
ReplyDeleteOver Shabbat I tried to discuss some of these events (Kolko, Tendlers, Pinter) w/ mainstream black hatters. It's depressing the number of kosher koolaid drinkers that are out there. 100% of the conversations went like this:
Q. Did you know that XYZ happened?
A. How do you know that it is even true?
Q. I've seen facsimiles of the legal documents, court filings, termination letters.
A. This is Loshon Hara.
Q. Well, how do you fix things if you can't admit there's a problem? Is the orthodox community perfect?
A. Why do you have to focus on the bad? Can't you look for the good in the community?
The saddest part is that many of these people are indeed sweet, loving Jews, who have been unfortunately brainwashed into thinking that it is a sin to believe that the orthodox community is anything less than perfect.
Getting rid of these Talibaniks and Ayatollah's won't be so easy. See the full page ad in this week's Yated.

ReplyDeleteI mentioned this lawsuit to a number of frum folks here in Detroit this Shabbas. Their reactions:
ReplyDeleteQ. Did you know that a $20 million lawsuit has been filed against YTT in Brooklyn for protecting a pedophile rebbe?
A. How do you know that is true?
Q. I saw facsimiles of the legal documents.
A. Well, in that case it's Loshon Hara.
Q. This is a serious problem. How can we protect kids and solve problems if we don't face them?
A. You're looking for the negative.
Q. All of this corruption in the frum community makes me question the value of Yiddishkeit.
A. Don't look for the negative. Read the Gemach section of the Yated.
Such innocent pure souls. Such fools. Perhaps we have the 'leaders' that we have because the Amcha are fools.
UOJ and esteemed readers,
ReplyDeleteIn the comments section of the Kolko article on Jewish Survivors blog, there is mention of another Brooklyn molester who has thus far gotten away with it. Does anyone know the story on this guy ?

Wish the victims of A.M. Liezerowitz from Brooklyn would unite to avenge the abuse.

The Editor,
ReplyDeleteI coudn't understand your postings until you mentioned that it's dateline Detroit. I'm sure they're not all like that, but Detroit is notorious for being home to many that are not the brightest bulbs.
Especially when it comes to Pinter, just take a survey around Brooklyn and Lakewood, and you'll see how many people have less than kind words for that thieving putz.
UOJ,
ReplyDeletePatience.
They'll come around. Their kids will come forward, they'll go to the police, Kolko will get arrested and Margules will be indicted.
Patience.
Herman says he has been contacted by at least 15 victims. When did the last alleged case of abuse take place - within the past decade?
ReplyDeleteDoes Kolko have a terminal illness?
UOJ, you done good. Everyone is talking about this. You saved a lot of kids. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe last known assault happened within the past couple of years.
ReplyDeleteThe next lawsuit filed will be on behalf of local victims including some very brave teenagers.
Stay tuned.
Where did Kolko spend Shabbos? Will he be in Yeshiva tomorrow morning? Why didn't the reporters interview Margo-lies?
ReplyDeleteUOJ,
ReplyDeleteI was a big skeptic, but the people out here are quietly coming around to understanding that they've been duped by a corrupt system. We need a guy with your guts and brains to tackle the big issues and the big crooks.
For what it's worth, please forgive me,I did a real good job of bad mouthing you.
Kolko was in yeshiva today.
ReplyDeleteMargulies refused to speak with the press.
You guys are unrealistic, of course rebbes molest kids why do you think they choose to be first grade rebbes?
ReplyDeleteThe defendants have 20 days to answer the complaint (from May 2), I trust they have a lawyer, who is it? Brofman?
ReplyDeleteUOJ- are you going to post the Answer? In truth, it will be boring; Defendants hereby deny all allegations blah blah blah. . .
Another frum botch-up. The only thing we can get right is the temperature in the mikveh.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/keepourchildrensafe
Kolko wasn't suspended with pay? Wouldn't a normal school place the teacher on paid leave in the face of such public allegations? I hope the judge sticks them extra hard for this one. This is intentional breach of fiduciary duty if I ever saw it.
ReplyDeleteIn this case I don't think it's in loco parenti, I think it's parenti are loco.
UOJ, please bear w/ a short rant about Detroit frummies.
ReplyDeleteShlomo,
If you are a member of Agudat Chasidei Bozo, you know exactly who I am.
I also take exception to that slam against Detroit, though if it was a reference to the Yeshiva Gedola here, I'll gladly let it stand. Lots of smart people around here. This is more the global center for the auto industry than ever, and along with plenty of stupid frummies, there are some pretty smart Jews as well. But the YG here is almost filled with arrogant dolts. I pity the good kids there.
So much foolishness. Such little wisdom. Ironically, some of our finest teachers are also teaching small children, true tzadikim like Eli Gordon and Eliezer Durden. But the Yeshiva Gedola here is a joke. Everyone with any sense knows it. The only boys with any smarts there are the ones who must go there either because they are local and can't afford to go out of town or a handful of nice boys w/ family ties to the place. The rest of them are arrogant yutzes. Considering that it's hardly a first tier yeshiva...
This morning, I noticed a flier on the wall of Machon announcing an upcoming yarchei kallah on Halacha and Medical Ethics. Though most of the speakers are indeed more than qualified to speak on the subject, I thought it was ironic that the rosh yeshiva of the local yeshiva gedola was also on the schedule. You see, this yeshiva encourages boys to drop out of the secular program at 16 so they can focus full time on Torah study. I don't question the man's ability to discuss halacha, I just wonder if he knows anything about science and medicine. He certainly doesn't respect science and medicine.
So I mentioned my feelings to R. Dror M. If you are frum and live in Detroit, you probably know Dror. He was born in Israel and his parents came here as professors. He became observant as a teen but honored his parents and got his degree at UofM before yeshiva and kollel. I'm not sure if he's still at the kollel full time or not but you probably know him, know he's no fool, and no apikores or likely to disparage a Torah scholar. His response? "The secular program there is a joke".
Recently, I was talking with Shmuel Chaim Jacobovitz, a young man as arrogant as his father is humble. Shmuel Chaim, who is known by his friends, rebbes and everyone who as ever met him as an arrogant prick with a chip on his shoulder and a permanent smirk, is about 18 or so. I told him there wasn't any "shidduch problem" just 22 year old poretzes like him who wanted 18 y/o hotties. In that language. This product of the Yeshiva Gedola, smirked even wider and said "You're just jealous!". Kinda proved my point.
His older brother is Elchonon, the high school dropout who has davinned musaf from the amud on Shabbat countless times though he never did a thing to deserve it, not even so much as serve a plate of cookies on kiddush in the shul. However, he is a member of the lucky zera club, the zera in question being that of the rav of the minyan. I got a little heated while talking to his paskudniak little brother and ended up using the old AngloSaxon word for charah and Elchonon threatened to "throw" me out of the building. I got a good laugh at that one. I mean, I wasn't disrespectful to a makom Torah. Well, considering the time our longest minyan member dropped a few F bombs on Bernie Antin in front of the open Aron Kodesh at the end of Yom Kippur. So in light of the fact that he's only 21 and I've been a ba'al habayit of his father's minyan since before he was born, I think he owes me enough respect to not think he owns the place just yet. Then he showed me the true value of being a half graduate of the Yeshiva Gedola of Detroit. I say half graduate. He's my rav's son, so I figure that's more respectable than high school dropout, which is just as accurate. He did, however, get the full measure of YGAM's Torah hashkafa. This young man, who when davinning at his father's amud shuckles and pronounces Hebrew like a Polish Jew, though his father stands still for the most part and sounds like a Litvak, told me that "it's a chutzpah for you to say meshebercah for Tzahal during Yizkor". Hmmmm. So 16 years of a Torah education has taught him that it's a chutzpah to say a memorial prayer for Jews who died al kiddush HaShem defending other Jews. This is his Ahavas Yisrael - frankly I prefer Ahavat Yisrael.
So last Shabbas, when I went to the YG to walk my host to his home for dinner, he was still in his shiur before the late maariv and I ran into a member of the faculty. I told him how disappointed I was with how the boys there acted towards the people in the city. How they were arrogant. They won't say Good Shabbas to people on the street and think they are better than other Jews. We kinda got into it. A crowd of bochrim gathered.
I'm no apikores but I'm tired of frum Jews and their narrow minded way of turning the greatest thing in the universe into something small and petty. I admit I have my own issues, and I love a good argument and just tired of these frummie dolts that think they can first try to intellectually trump you and then if that doesn't work, try to claim the high spiritual ground and I just won't let them do it anymore. Fuck 'em. I'm not Bob Buxbaum or Shmuel Irons but I test out in the 99th percentile took, God Damn It, and I probably know way more Tanach than 99% of Yeshiva graduates so I just won't let these company men bully me. A funny thing happened. I was talking with a faculty member, and one of the older students walked up and told him that we shouldn't be having this conversation in the building, that it was apikorsus. I walked away. My host was still busy. You know me. I can't stop. Started up with a few more bochrim. This time, some chutzpan from New York told me he was "better than a Conservative Jew" because he learned Torah all day. I first told him that he had no idea what mitvahs a Conservative Jew does do, and he also has no idea of the chesronos of his own mitzvahs. And that while we were on the subject of aveirahs, he was an adoloscent male and we could discuss an aveirah that I was 100% sure he was guilty of. The other boys snickered. I know, it's not fair to pick on children, but the arrogant prick had it coming. The same older student cop came by. This time he openly called me an apikorus. I demanded an apology. He smirked and pro forma apologized so I told him no mechila on Yom Kippur till it's sincere and I accept it. He broke up the little circle. Reminded me of the old anti-missionary days when a Messianic leader would take folks by the hand away from us lest they use their minds.
Around that time, my host came out of the shiur, asked if I'd davinned Maariv, and I guess to the surprise of all these bochrim, the "apikores" helped make the late minyan.
That's why I want to make these yutzes yotze on my davinning from the amud on my Dad's yahrzeit.
My father was not a very observant Jew. He was raised fairly assimilated. Did not keep kosher as a child but attended a talmud Torah in NYC in the 20s and 30s after public school so he knew a little. My mom's folks were shomer shabbas, so he and my mom kept a fairly traditional Conservative home. Even my frumest friends ate at our home. My mom has taught the bais yakov girls here how to kasher chickens. My dad was religious, just not very observant. He loved chazanus and I have all his old Yossele Rosenblat records, he loved the fact that his kids and grandkids were observant and he asked great questions. He was also beloved of the kollel leaders who moved to the neighborhood years after he bought one of the original houses here. They knew he wasn't frum, but they loved him anyways. A week before his death, while waiting for his bypass surgery, a risky endeavor with his health at the time but his decision, I stopped at the hospital late on a summer Friday to see him before Shabbas. I ran in Rabbi Schwab in the lobby. When I got to Dad's room he had a peculiar look on his face so I asked him what was up. He said that he had just hung up the phone to ask my mom to bring him a siddur so he could say vidui before his surgery. Frankly, I was surprised that he knew of the minhag. He then said that as soon as he hung up the phone, Rabbi Schwab walked in with the siddur. Rabbi Schwab has perhaps the broadest and biggest smile in the world and is also a huge talmid chacham. Detroit is lucky to have a few men like him and R. Irons. Some diamonds among many lumps of coal. I figure that if my father merited having someone like R. Schwab asist in his final vidui, the vidui was necessary and his death was min hashamayim.
As you can see,i'm emotional about my father. But during yizkor, I never cry about him. I've led yizkor at Machon for over 15 years. Frankly, I started saying yizkor for Tzahal for three reasons. One, a friend also grew up in a Conservative shul where the choir sings during yizkor and he asked me to do more than just stand there silently. Two, when I was first asked to lead, it was Yom Kippur and the YK Artscroll machzor has the prayer for Tzahal in it, so since I was already thinking of ways to do more of a "production" it seemed appropriate to say that and the yizkor/mesheberach for martyrs out loud as well. Three, I found that it moved me. Like I said, I accepted my father's death, he was a sick man. But dead young men is a tragedy and I tear up when saying yizkor for Tzahal. The Zionist thing is only a minor part of it. These were Jews defending Jews, period. So you can see why I'm so upset at what this YGAM product told me. Why I'm so outraged at how they think they are better than most of us at this blog and most Jews in general. They would have thought my dad was an apikores too and scratched their head at why folks like R. Schwab loved and respected him. And I want the YGAM yutzes to have to be Yotze by his son.
Shlomo, btw, since this blog is about pedophiles, what do you think about that rich guy on Burton? You know, the real smart guy that made a bundle in software, one of WmGIII's early employees? Late middle aged, never married male. Moves to the middle of the frum community. Starts buying all the kids, particularly boys, real expensive toys their poor frum folks paying tuition can't afford, like expensive roller blades, Klein and Trek bikes (if you know who I am, you know I know bikes), etc. Taking teenage boys on overnight trips to Cedar Point on his boat. Got married briefly to a woman with two young sons who divorced him months later and quietlty moved out of town. Lots of red flags, huh, Shlomo?
"The defendants have 20 days to answer the complaint (from May 2),"
ReplyDeletefirst of all, if they waive formal service of process, they get 60, as they most likely did. 2nd of all, they could file a 12(b)(6) motion to dismmiss for failure to state a claim for which relief can be granted on. while they will probably lose, it buys them more to time to come up with their Answer
"If you're telling the truth I'll find out who you are."
ReplyDeleteBig deal - so you'll know who he is. He's right, Detroit is full of idiots without a clue. They (the Yeshivish community) look toward New York for everything and the Yated is their bible. What a depressing place.
"Editor" recalled his multiple conversation taht went like this:
ReplyDeleteDid you know that XYZ happened?
A. How do you know that it is even true?
Q. I've seen facsimiles of the legal documents, court filings, termination letters.
Editor told of his conversations with multiple black-hatters that went like this:
Did you know that a $20 million lawsuit has been filed against YTT in Brooklyn for protecting a pedophile rebbe?
A. How do you know that is true?
Q. I saw facsimiles of the legal documents.
A. Well, in that case it's Loshon Hara.
Q. This is a serious problem. How can we protect kids and solve problems if we don't face them?
A. You're looking for the negative.
Q. All of this corruption in the frum community makes me question the value of Yiddishkeit.
A. Don't look for the negative. Read the Gemach section of the Yated.
A couple of comments: First of all let's keep a little perspective. The average "black-hatter" that responds that way is not actualy saying (or believing) that we should indeed bury our heads in the sand rather than try to correct such disgusting things. Here's what's really going on in his head as you sit around the Shalosh Seudos table having that exchange: "Yeah, I know about TT and Kolko,.Yeah, it's disgusting. But I'm sitting here within earshot of my pals in front of whom I've worked very carefully to cultivate an air of yeshivishkeit so that my kids can continue to hope to get good shiduchim. If there was some specific "Toieles" to our conversation (e.g. if you were telling me that I could personally make a difference in the situation by doing X,Y, or Z)that would be a different story, but as it is the situation is apparently being dealt with by people with bigger balls than me, in which case this particular situation probably is just Loshon Horah, so what's the point."
Now I'm not saing that such an attitude is admirable. BUt what you have going on is more just a sense of hiding and pulling down the shades rather than a true blindness to the fact that there are problems. It's knd of like why so many people you know would rather try to get out of jry duty than try t get on a jury and help put away a thug. It's not that they don't think these guys are criminals, they're just chicken sh_t.
More on the Boro Park pedophila allegations

U mean Lizerowitz from the ger Yeshiva on 16 Avenue?
My brother insists he was raped by him and someone went public with "pashkevilin" years ago. His day will come I guess. His story is no older than Kolko's.
The Yeshiva World blog was finally forced to acknowledge the Kolko scandal after many angry messages from readers. But the guy is an unbelievable suck. You wouldn't believe the whitewash of Margo that he put up. He's also censoring all the comments.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is wrong with this twerp ? Is he related to Margo ? Or does his father work at YTT ?

With a heavy heart......
Yeshiva Torah Temimah is the gold standard of Yeshivas.
Built by a sure genius with his own bare hands, Reb Lipa Margulies Shlita has gotten to the top and remained there by doing it HIS way.
Well now it's time for another way.
My suggestion: An immediate, independent, completly thorough investigation, done by men of unimpeachable integrity.
In the meantime, the Rebbe in question should step aside; or be supervised in school.
The community deserves nothing less, Reb Lipa Margulies Shlita has never settled for less!
Comments will only be accepted if acceptable.
There's reason to believe that Yeshiva World's blog editor has been not only monitoring the posts here, but writing some of the attacks against UOJ and friends. There was a post here by someone posing as AJ Soloveitchik who was criticizing super-ganav Leib Pinter. The hyperlink on AJ was a Haaretz article on Brisk that's a couple years old. Yeshiva World got all excited and immediately posted the Brisker article on his website with childish exuberance, punctuated with multiple exclamation marks.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the identity of the fool who runs the Yeshiva World blog ?
Shlomo, relax. The Jackson five is from Detroit! So not to worry , your town has fame for nurturing the best of the denying pedophiles!
ReplyDeleteOn a serious note......town, shmown, is Kolko in jail or not?

Finally one apology to UOJ. Where are the rest of you????? Come on!!! This is how we can start to heal and mend. We have an Ordained pissed off Talmudic Rabbi blogger scholar (that should be a sit com) with tons of knowledge who is making changes that we never could make on our own. Give it up, Klal! Hazal tells us not to hold back compliments or acknowledgement of a job well done!!
ReplyDeleteNaysayers, where are you?????
Good job UOJ! Good F'in Job!
sun of uoj says:
ReplyDeletehey pop!
vicki polin approves of you. That means more than the moetzes.
As she says,
"I want everyone to be aware of this case. Survivors have come forward, got an attorney and a $20 million dollar law suit was filed against their alleged offender, the yeshiva and those who helped cover it up.
http://jewishsurvivors.blogspot.com/2006/05/case-of-rabbi-yehuda-kolko-and-yeshiva.html
If they could to this, you could too."
way to go, dad.
Hi, it's me, Leib Pinter. It sure is a huge relief that this latest Kolko Margo uproar takes the heat off me temporarily.
ReplyDeleteLet me ask you guys a question. If you want me to get kicked out of Mir yeshiva for stealing, how come you don't demand that Rabbi Weinfeld throw out a child molester ?
Fair is fair.
Misareiv ledin my foot, I heard Kolko got shlishi in shul this shabbos.
ReplyDeleteShutup Pinter, you sticky fingered creep. Don't talk unless spoken to. Is there anyone reading this from Weinfeld's shul that has complained to the rov to throw Kolko out ?
ReplyDeleteI don't understand.
ReplyDeleteIf this is a bilbul, why aren't the roshei yeshiva lining up to defend YTT, Margulies and Kolko?
If the accusations are true why aren't the roshei yeshiva demanding that Kolko be removed immediately?
If there is doubt as to Kolko's guilt, why is Kolko still teaching? Is this not a sofik sakana?
Letter to the editor, a/k/a Ronnie Schrieber a/k/a known Marijuana abuser/50 year deadhead. You will never daven for the amud @ YG because I obviously know who you are. Your a nebuch down on his luck probably because you have a 30+ year old marijuana habit, that led to divorce and who knows what else?! Before you malign the yeshivaleit in Detroit, I'd face the hard fact that Marijuana is your big problen and not the Yeshiva Gedola. Who knows maybe Rabbi J would like to see how you feel about his sons. That might end your stint as Yizkor zugger. My advice seek counseling. Go into rehab and stop crying.
ReplyDeleteHello, Detroit Yid.
ReplyDeleteI'm not from Detroit, but a little bit familiar with it. I know you live there, and I can empathize with you on how you find it frustrating. Me too. I can only tell you how I manage my emotions when I encounter situations similar to those you described. Love and mercy, ahava and rachmonus. The Jews you describe come with a lot of cultural baggage. They almost can't help themselves. They were born and raised to be frum snobs. Its as if they were born physically defective, G-d forbid, but instead they are spiritually defective. Our own love and mercy for such Jews can be both a refuah for them, and they in turn, will be merciful towards you. Try it.
That's all I have to say. Kol tuv.
Mr. Zweibel/Agudah is advising Margulies to deny and fight, and keep Kolko put.
ReplyDeleteThey're afraid this is just the start of a state investigation of all yeshivas and potentially loss of all government money.
Zweibel really has the best interests of the Jewish people first and foremost on his agenda!
GO TO HELL CHAIM DOVID ZWEIBEL!
You are not giving them any way to settle. They have no choice but to fight. This will be a prolonged blood-letting. Get out of Flatbush while you still can.
ReplyDeleteUOJ, with all the crap going on in all the yeshivahs, molestation and cover up in YTT, porn-addict Klohr's Ruach Chaim, and all the second rate places like Toras Sheker, Sinas Torah, Chofetz Movvess, Torah Veshtus, etc. to which should a person send him son?
ReplyDeleteUOJ,
ReplyDeleteI suppose that's a plausible hypothesis at least, but do you have any cold, hard information that Zweibel and the Agudah machine are in fact conspiring with Margo ?
Just in time for the lawsuit...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.cafepress.com/yudi
Stop knocking the Agudah. If no one thinks they are choshuv anymore, people won't want to join the Young Leadership Division. UOJ, you party pooper.
ReplyDeletewe'll need directions.
ReplyDeleteIf we're neither deadheads or losers can we malign yeshivaleit?
ReplyDeleteOops. Better not. We won't be able to daven for the amud at YG.
a serious threat.
CDZ is following the advice of the gedoilim, no doubt. You would do better working from within, uoj, using your MONEY to get what you want. Money talks, right?
ReplyDeleteWhen a White House press secretary can easily dismiss cyberspace as what some malicious maligner writes on a blog bloog and your blogginess don't figure as bigshots, despite your ability to pay for mass mailings and calling in the Feds who are hot for PROTECTing innocence.
How naive are you? Did you really expect YTT to close down in one or two days because of a lawyer's press conference? You should be working for the FBI if you want to set up others with accusations of mail fraud. My point is that only by working within the system can you effect positive change. You should become a Rebbe at YTT. Chaim Dovid can arrange it.
This is place is malignant. The sinas yisrael present in all who post here (along with the gayva, lashon hara and kinah) raises cries as loud to shomayim as those from sdom. Hashem will respond to your evil appropriately.
ReplyDeleteDo tshuva before its too late....
This is place is malignant. The sinas yisrael present in all who post here (along with the gayva, lashon hara and kinah) raises cries as loud to shomayim as those from sdom. Hashem will respond to your evil appropriately.
ReplyDeleteDo tshuva before its too late....
The agudah is only interested in perpetuating itself and those phoney gedeilim who they so self-righteously claim to follow.Their obnoxious full of shit dinner with it's so called askonim should be boycotted.
ReplyDeleteHow much do you want to bet that after UOJ posted about the conspiracy, Margo was on conference call all afternoon with Zweibel and Fishman?
ReplyDeleteThat's right Ganchie. They use a special red phone called the Caveman hotline.
ReplyDeleteAh. UOJ and JWB. The dynamic duo, reunited at last. The hate firm of minvuel and minuvel, llc.
ReplyDelete"they have equally distorted views of their fellow man."
So nice to see how the yeshiva community here in Detroit observes the mitzvah of Lashon HaRah.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, If R.A.J. is as perceptive as I believe him to be, he is probably well aware of his sons' shortcomings. Maybe you can ask YR why she always leaves the shul when SCJ davins musaf. But who knows, you may be one of those FFB frummies that looks down on gerei tzedek so that factoid may have no purchase with you. For those of you who graduated (or dropped out) of the Detroit YG, purchase is a synonym (that means a word with a similar meaning) for grasp or grip. I hope that wasn't too condescending, was it?
BTW, Anonymous, I never hid my identity. You sure as hell didn't have any problem figuring out who I am. ROTFLMFFAO!!! I've never denied my many flaws. Unlike frum Jews, I admit that I have problems. The only way you can improve is to face what's wrong.
I'm an arrogant jerk that lectures and hectors. The clinical diagnosis is narcissistically impaired with some psychopathic behaviors. Want the name of my shrink too? LOL. The fact that I've used cannibis heavily off and on since my teens has never been a secret. I've never denied being a pothead or a deadhead for the matter. But the last time I looked, smoking dope isn't nearly the explicit aveirah that Lashon Hara and being a Baal Gaivah are. Please explain how my many flaws mitigate the ga'a'vah of YG products even one Mashehu.
Also, please explain how my posts, the product of a supposedly THC addled brain, might have an occasional misspelling or typo, while your post, the presumptive example of a quality yeshiva education, has syntax errors and missing words. Well, unless you meant that I was a 50 year Deadhead, which would be difficult since the band only got together in 1965 - and I didn't own any of their records or see/hear them play live until 1972, which would make me a 34 year Deadhead. I didn't know it was an aveirah to be a grateful yid.
Anonymous, you chose to practice what is a textbook example of Lashon HaRa and you did it as a coward, anonymously.
Since you know who I am, you know where I live. I'm genuinely touched by your concern for my mental health and would sincerely like to thank you personally for your concern. No need to hide behind an anonymous blog nic. After all, we're both adult Jews.
Stop by the garage tonight. We'll discuss this like adults. If you want to give me mussar, be an adult and do it in person. I'm a big boy and can handle it. Yizkor for Tzahal and kedoshim makes me cry, not sincere advice in my best interests. Or at least post your real name here, as I am quite willing to do.
Sincerely,
Ronald Joel Schreiber

Hey Yonah Putz,
ReplyDeleteNobody is forcing you to come visit; GET THE H OFF MY BLOG!
Boog:
ReplyDeleteCorrection - You're in deep shit. I have mentally check out already and therefore the "leadership" has zero impact on me. I will just remain on the sidelines and laugh (until the men in white coats take me away)
This is unreal.
UOJ, was there a problem with my last post? Or just a lag? It hasn't made it through moderation. It'd be nice if my response to such a personal attack could go through.
ReplyDeleteI respect what you are doing here and understand why you must use a non de guerre. But I don't really care about being anonymous. I have nothing to lose.
Wasn't that just breathtaking how quickly and ferociously they attacked me? I have nothing to fear from these yutzes because they can't say much that is true about me that I won't say about myself, in public. [LOL at the silly frummies - the only appropriate response to such infantile behavior]. Okay, I have a few secrets, but only HaShem knows them, so the Detroit frummies can't really harm me by posting unsavory details of my life. It's pretty much an open book. I've fucked up plenty, admit to it, and I'm trying to rebuild my life and do tshuvah. It's not easy learning how to be a human being at my age, but I'm trying. It'd be nice if there were some role models that have admitted fucking up and rebuilding their lives, but that doesn't seem to exist in the frum world, because nothing wrong ever happens there.
So what are they going to do to me? Make me a pariah? Already done a good enough job of that myself, and besides, I like talking about stuff that Yated won't print.
Oh my, I'm a "nebuch". LOLLOLOLOLOL Compared to getting called an asshole by just about everyone, LOL, getting called a nebuch by a frummie just doesn't sting much.
I don't have much. No reputation, very little dignity. Just about the only thing they can do to me is try to hurt my kids. Since very little is not possible in terms of the politics of personal destruction when frummies think that the dignity of Torah, i.e. their own ego, has been insulted, that's what I expect next. Perhaps I invited it by slamming my rabbi's sons, though none of my kids ever said it was a chutzpah to say yizkor for Jews who died defending other Jews, and none of my kids ever threatened to throw a Jew out of shul. And while my son would certainly like an 18 y/o hottie, he only smirks some of the time.
Hey, Boog & Gross, what are you referring to? The Zwiebel attitude? Or something else?
ReplyDeleteAnon:
ReplyDeleteBoog is presumably referring to the sad state of affairs.
Mr. Editor,
ReplyDeleteVent gezunteheit.
Editor:
ReplyDeleteBeautifully articulated! Perhaps a hit or two would've made my own trip (no pun intended) endurable. That element of Detroit really does suck.
Forgive me for my naivette. After this week's parsha (and I know some "savior" will mention the issur of mishkav zochor, but I'm not talking about that), which focuses on bein adam l'chaveiro, I don't understand exactly who is posting here. Haven't your rebbeim taught anything? After seeing the way rabbonim are treated here, maybe I'm not so surprised. So go ahead. Make fun of my name, talk about the gedolei hador however you want - believe me, it doesn't bother them. And oh yeah, UOJ is the new tzddik olam. This is what the Torah wants, right? Air your dirty laundry in public. Whatever your personal grudge is, I don't know, and it could be that the whole story is true - that's not my point. Show me one rav with da'as torah - one person with da'as torah - who supports you and the way you're doing this.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy you're olam hazeh, all of you - make the most of it while you still can. Don't forget the AC.

BTW, you think Shlomo Amkus will identify himself as I was willing to do?
BTW, it's possible that he isn't an FFB. When I first responded to him, I thought he may have been a local friend of mine with the same first name and misunderstood his intentions. Looking back through the archives I now understand his is your adversary.
It's only a hunch, but based on a few things I think my comment about a possible local pedophile may have inadvertantly hit a bit closer to the target than I had intended.
I'm assuming that Shlomo Amkus and the Anonymous that posted about me being a divorced pothead are the same poster. That person may also be the same person I suspect is a pedophile. I know it sounds crazy, but hey, I'm nuts, so work with me.
The guy I suspect is a pedophile uses the Hebrew name of Shlomo, not at all related to his common English name. His first post in this thread under Shlomo took exception to an earlier poster questioning the intelligence of Detroiters. Shlomo sarcastically asked about all the "geniuses" in Brooklyn. The guy I suspect is indeed a genius. Off the charts brilliant, he has a professional degree he never used. He's a BT, and as far as I know is facile w/ the Talmud so Amkus fits too. He also identified me as a Deadhead, a fan of the Grateful Dead. The guy I suspect is a big music fan, a bit obsessed about collecting old Dylan and the Beach Boys. He knows of my musical tastes, we've discussed Dylan a bit, and outside of my real friends, he's one of the few people in the frum community that even know what a Deadhead is. Oh, and if anyone in the frum community is on the internet it's this guy. He very much baki b'computers, and was on the internet in the 1980s. He's also very keen on appearing to be in line with the local black hat community. Oh, one other thing might explain his sensitivity about the yeshivaleit in Detroit. The YG is near his home and he likes to hang around adolescent boys.
I was going to say that it wouldn't be too hard to find a Shlomo here in Detroit. There are only about 1000 frum families here and most are on the WOL (mikvah) directory. But the guy I suspect isn't married anymore.
Hey, Shlomo, are you on the WOL list or not? LOL
Shlomo, I just finished a fascinating book, Henry and Edsel, about the Fords. You're a pretty bright guy, and have an interesting perspective. Who do you think was more creative, Bill Gates or Henry Ford? Who was more of a crackpot?
BTW, Shlomo, when I ran the particulars past about half a dozen folks in the community who aren't fools, they all knew exactly who I was talking about, what I was talking about, and shared my concerns 100%.
I detect very strong degrees of irrational exuberance. Kolko for little boys, Margo for self and Pinter for other people's money.
ReplyDeleteMargo's wallet will face economic distress if the public boycotts the yeshiva dinner and pulls their children out.
The Agudah might pull a fast one and tell other yeshivas not to accept Torah Temimah kids when their parents try pulling them out.
ReplyDeleteMoney money money!
ReplyDeletegross;
ReplyDeletesee if you can reserve a room for me at Bellevue with a nice river view.
Will Zweibel and Fishman have the nerve to show up in court on behalf of Kolko and Margo? That's like Ramsey Clark coming to the defense of Saddam Hussein.
ReplyDeleteMargo could have some serious problems if the kids themselves start rebelling. It won't look very good for him if throws a bunch of them out.
ReplyDeleteAll I know is that UOJ is bad for business. We used to deliver tons of Kosher Delight burgers to Margo every day, but the old fresser has had a bad stomach ache since Shabbes.

Rabbis get woman-free flight
Two leading rabbis buy all first class tickets, ask El Al to only post male stewards on flight so they do not have to see women on way to America
Haim Levinson
A modest first class flight: Two leading rabbis set to fly to the United States concluded an agreement with El Al that would see them enjoy a woman-free and movie-free flight.
The Gerrer Rebbe, a Hassidic leader who will fly abroad on Sunday, asked El Al that no air stewardesses be aboard the flight.
El Al complied with the rabbi's request and on Sunday's flight to the United States only males will look after passengers.
The Gerrer Rebbe and Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman, 93, another leading rabbi, will fly in a historic journey to visit American Jewish communities.
The journey has been exciting the ultra-Orthodox public for six months as it involves the rare cooperation of the two spiritual leaders.
During the visit the rabbis will seek to raise funds for married yeshiva students attending advanced Judaic studies programs.
United Torah Judaism enlisted its six MKs to bid goodbye to the two leaders at Ben-Gurion International Airport on Sunday.
The rabbis will land in Los Angles where the Jewish community is eagerly awaiting their arrival. The rabbis will visit Jewish communities along the west coast.
The visit's highlight is an event that will be attended by 10,000 people. A private jet will fly the rabbis to Montreal and Toronto.
The Gerrer Rebbe will fly to Israel from Canada, while Steinman will visit Central and South America before returning to Israel.
The rabbis asked that the flight from Israel adhere to the strictest standards of modesty. Their aides agreed with El Al officials that they will not have to see women during flight.
The rabbis bought all first class tickets on the flight to make sure no businesswomen are on board.
It was also decided that no films will be screened during the flight. Moreover, the backs of first class seats will be covered with plastic so that the rabbis won't even have to see the television screens.
Responding to the report, El Al said: "We do not report on our costumers out of respect for their privacy."

Kugelfresser,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, "Daas Torah" has been exhibiting a deficiency in the "Daas" component. This issue has been ignored and there was no other way to go about it.
Why don't you go ask R' Lipa why he ignored the Agudah's half-assed plea to address the problem, so the community wouldn't have to suffer any more busha...
Funny how people start caring only after the fact.
You are indeed naive and apparently have no idea what kind of "mafioso" we are up against - the truth will prevail though. It always does.

ReplyDeleteGross,
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly did the Agudah's "plea" to Margo consist of? It may not be saying much, but at least that would mean that they were not completely useless, at least in this instance. Maybe that's why there haven't been any public proclamations of support for Kolko and YTT enablement.
Who are Klein and Geldwirth?
ReplyDeleteThe Complaint is now available on the Pacer system for viewing, and the case has been assigned Case #06-2096. Way to go UOJ.

Judge Townes is a black woman and former AUSA. She was apointed to the bench by President Bush.
ReplyDeleteThere will be a jury trial...you can bet your father-in-laws' money on it.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Kolko was the driver of the green van who raped that poor girl in Lakewood. Kolko's preference is for little boys. Some of the posters on Canonist.com have suggested that it may be Mordy Tendler.

"The disease called the BIG "C"-Chassidism/Charedism is out of control!"
ReplyDeleteThe gerrer aversion to contact with other women is as old as the kotzker. Is UOJ now disparaging him and all of the previous gerrer rebbes? Who is he to say whose religious devotion is suspect. If the kotzker's even suspect, who is safe from this merciless criticism?
How about the tannaim and ammoraim who were fairly adamant about not talking to women. Were they also a disease?
I think what UOJ is saying is that he wants a religion where there is no g-d but lashon hara, and uoj is his prophet.
At a certain point, someone needs to say "Diy! Ad Kan! Enough with the zilul horim that he and his chevra routinely perpretrates!"
UOJ, did you notice that the coward backed down from my challenge.
ReplyDeleteGross, you're welcome to stop buy next time you're in town. I'm right around the block from the Kollel. In the meantime, check out U.S. Patent #4,253,475 on uspto.gov
Hey, Shlomo, how many teenage boys are you taking to Cedar Point on your boat this summer?
It didn't need an Einstein to figure out who I was, but I can understand how you might be offended at folks suggesting that Detroiters aren't smart, you're a pretty bright guy.
Tell me, Shlomo, do you think as many folks in the frum community know that you collect old Dylan as know that I'm a Deadhead?
"Avi Weiss,"
ReplyDeleteMy inside source tells me that around the time of a secret rabbinical meeting on the issue, Zwiebel pleaded with Margo not to ignore the claim because he knew it was going to explode. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that Zwiebel was concerned for the damage control element - not for the kids.

Gross, The patent was something I cooked up in an earlier gilgul. Actually paid day school tuition on more than one occasion by building a gross or two and hustling them to head shops. Actually, back in the day, the Union of Orthodox Rabbis used to have their headquarters in the same building as High Times magazine. While in New York for a simcha, my ex and I went over to their (HT) offices to try and get some free publicity for the patented product. A couple of black hatters were riding up the elevator as we did. It did eventually end up in the magazine.
ReplyDeleteAll this talk about t-shirts. I should come up with an embroidery design. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteEveryone should contact the Awareness Center and give Vicki some money too.
ReplyDeleteIn March 2001, the Honorable Sandra L. Townes '76 was named by New York State Governor George Pataki to serve on one of the state's four appellate courts. Townes will serve in the Second Department in Brooklyn, although she will continue to maintain an office in Syracuse.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second change for Townes in just fifteen months. She recently won her New York State Supreme Court justice race to become the first African- American and the second woman elected to the bench in the 5th Judicial District. Townes says her parents taught her she "could achieve anything if she just kept going."
Townes, a native of Spartanburg, SC had decided as a young girl that she wanted to be a civil rights lawyer, but her first career was as a high school English teacher. She decided to pursue her law degree at SU and stayed in Syracuse, working for ten years in the Special Victims Bureau of the District Attorney's Office. She eventually became chief assistant district attorney.
Hey Shlomo, I can understand your concern for the YG yeshivaleit. Those are your favorite boys, young teens, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI bet you thought it was min hashamayim to have found a house right in the middle of a frum community with all those kids, and right down the street from a high school yeshiva with all of those yummy frum teen boys.
Having a lot of money helps too, doesn't it? After all, Shlomo, you can afford to buy your young friends expensive presents that their parents cannot. It also helps to buy kavod and encourage rabbis and parents to look away and not face reality.
One other thing, Shlomo. Since you raised the issue of my divorce, saying it was due to my marijuana addiction, would you care to share the reasons for your own divorce? She seems like such a nice lady and her two sons were nice young men as well, and then, poof, she was gone back to her hometown with the boys. Her boys are okay, aren't they?
There are victims coming forward one after the other. Kolko must have molested over a hundred kids over the past forty years. This guy Herman is going to make a bundle.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew how to figure out whom to trust & how to go about this but students have accused him of getting off with boys from the mesifta on his lap and worse. Change Dentico to Margo and Cirillo to Kolko.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.newcriminologist.co.uk/news.asp?id=1130150078
While prosecutors portrayed the men as being major mobsters, in court they appeared subdued and resigned to their fate. Dentico, a short, stooped man, could barely be heard as he pleaded guilty to one charge of racketeering. At one point he was told "I can't hear you," by Brooklyn Federal Judge Sandra Townes.
The judge also had trouble hearing Cirillo's "I do" when he was sworn to the tell the truth and requested that he repeat the oath in a louder voice.
Hey Yooj,
ReplyDelete"Gerrer Shtick Dreck..."...Nice.
I don't know the Rebbe as well as you do, so who am I to say.
Tell me. You've surely met some Jewish "leaders" in your time who have passed your test of integrity. There must be at least one! Could you give us a name? Just one name of a living person in a position of recgnized leadership in the yeshivishe community who you admire? Come'on throw us a bone so that we don't comepletely despair.
I cant believe Kolko is the only molestor at camp agudah.
ReplyDeleteI have the greatest respect for Jeff Herman. Working with Jeff over the last months convinced me that there are professionals in the legal field that actually care about their clients.
ReplyDeleteJeff has spent countless hours and his own resources to investigate the claims. He travelled thousands of miles on his own dime to ascertain the veracity of these claims.
Besides being a brilliant attorney, he is a super mensch!
Everyone with integrity in the Jewish community thanks you Jeff.
Readers and friends, please e-mail Jeff and show him the hakoras hatov he deserves.
Forget about zwiebel, agudah, and the rest of these "frum" MF sob's. They are part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteHey Koko, hope you don't wind up in Rikers. Da boyz in da hood gonna have a field day with your tuchis.
Forget about weinfeld. He's one of our Rabbinic Ketanim. He gravitates to money like a moth to light. Asking him to ban koko from his shul is a Beracha L'Vatalah.
ReplyDeleteYou got a better shot asking Cardinal Lustiger to intervene.
Dear Editor aka RS -- love your posts. I am from Detroit too. Start your own Detroit blog, please. The patent is funny. (Sorry, I don't mean to be insulting. I wasn't sure what to expect when I searched for the number on the patent site.) I am impressed and sympathetic to your trials in learning to become a human being. If everyone on this blog were honest with themselves, they would admit that they themselves are in need of doing the same. Very much enjoy your writing -- keep it up.
ReplyDeleteWhile we're discussing shams and scams, let's talk about Dor Yeshorim. They're the organization that tests for genetic diseases. The problem is that they don't give you the results to know whether or not you're a carrier - they give you ID numbers, and they see if you and your future spouse match up. And, they charge you more than it would cost in a lab. And, they don't even test for as much stuff as they do in a lab.
ReplyDeleteHere's where the sham part of it comes in. Say Reuven is not a carrier. And Sarah isn't. They marry each other. Their child will not be a carrier, and thus, will not have to test for whatever. Dor Yeshorim won't tell you, so now the kid will have to shell out dough to find out what he would've already known.
DY tried to set up shop at a Far Rockaway yeshiva, and the rosh yeshiva told them where to go. But DY will tell you that they have the approval of some (asher yatzar) gedolim.
I agree that it's important to test, but do it at a lab and put DY out of business. Even Eli Teitlebaum called it a sham!
UOJ, don't let these filthy bastards get away with it!
Here are some more allies to enlist in the war on Kolko.

i know everyone keeps asking you this same question, but I would really appreciate if you could answer me. I have the utmost respect for what you are doing, I too feel the way you do about most things. I think it is about time someone stands up to the plate and instead of talking about the problems with the frum world actually does something about it. It also seems that you are a very straight person who really is out to accomplish some good. All this being said, Dont you think you would gain alot more legitamacy and respect if you would go about these things in a more "menchlich" way. I dont mean to imply that you are looking for anyones respect, but wouldnt it more beneficial in the long run if you had more people on your team? A reply would be greatly appreciated. doc9871@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteIf YTT's insurance carrier finds out about the lawsuits, Margo's premiums will go through the roof. It will be interesting to see if he can get away with raising tuition when he's on thin ice with the parents.

UOJ,
ReplyDeleteThank you for responding to my request for the name of an admirable Rav. (I'm not familiar with Rabbi Horowitz, but a Monsey friend of mine tells me he's a good guy.)
Whoo. Didn't that feel good?
I think we've made an important breakthrough. Let's see if we can build on that?
Can you name another?
If so, maybe we can move from there to the larger question of whether we can find some common ground about whether the frum community is in fact diseased beyond remedy or whether it is mostly good albeit with some undeniably profound problems that call for action. Despite my admittedly sarcastic tone I'm actually trying to help you move the blog in a direction that would give you more credibility and currency among those who would otherwise dismiss you purely on the basis of your vulgarity.
If Zweibel and the Agudah rabbonim had a secret meeting with Margo to do something about Kolko, why don't they go a few more train stops down to the Mir and tell them to throw Pinter out on his head ?
ReplyDeleteI have to give the order to my boys at Flatbush Shomrim to post sentries near Kolko and Pinter. You never know who they are going to molest or steal from next.
ReplyDeleteSo much for Margo's diet. I saw him sneak into Dougie's today on 18th Ave and greedily gulp down all kinds of food when he thought no one was looking.
ReplyDeleteThe man is out of control. No wonder he doesn't give a damn if Kolko gets to pimp himself at YTT.
To the guy who has a problem with dor yesharim:
ReplyDeletethe reason DY does it that way is specifically because they want total anonimity. This is a result of R' Moshe's p'sak years ago that genetic testing is ASSUR! He wrote that the reason for it is that he was scared that people who were somewhat ignorant would think that just because someone is a carrier, their whole family is now unfit to marry into. After DY set things up the way they did, r' Moshe came out with a letter that is somewhat unclear. The Feinstein family feels that the letter didn't change the psak. The Tendlers felt that it did and that's what people who use dor yesharim rely on. If not for the way DY does it, there is no doubt as to r' moshe's psak that it would be assur. That said, we should be happy to have DY. also, if you do DY when they do their mass testings, like this past pesach, you pay 125 bux. that's a one time fee for life. is that so bad? If you don't try to look to be ripped off you wouldnt feel that way. Even if they are ripping you off because it "really costs less in a regular lab", 125 aint so bad and well worth the investment. I hope i have clarified this issue for you.
UOJ,
ReplyDeletePerhaps you can with the help of others come up with a list of reputable Rabbis for orthodox jewry to turn to.
Thanks
Hi UOJ,
ReplyDeleteMe again. The one to whom your offerred Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz as an admirable leader. I had a senior moment earlier when I forgot which Rabbi Horowitz you were refering to. Of course I'm familiar with him and I think he's right on the money almost all the time. In fact this excerpt from his email post about the Boro Park incident says all I need to know about him
"...Instead of reactive comments from people defending the protestors, or suggesting that these are the actions of a few individuals, I would like to see universal and broad-based condemnation of these actions from responsible community leaders, rabbonim and heads of schools. I plan on speaking about this matter in my Friday dvar Torah to my talmidim. I hope that many others will do the same.
I strongly believe that all parents should speak to their children about this matter at their dinner and Shabbos tables. Our children are watching our response to this very public chilul Hashem. Very carefully.
There are hundreds of amazing acts of selflessness and Kiddush Hashem in our community on a daily basis. However, these beautiful messages are being snuffed out by the negative actions of a few. In this 24-hour news cycle and Internet blog world we cannot allow the misguided youth who commit violence to speak for us..."
Notice two things in Rabbi H's message. 1) No nivul peh and name calling 2) an acknowledgemnt of the inumerable acts of selflessness and kiddush hashem that define our community far better than the underbelly does. Such ackowledgement makes clear that the writer TRULY loves our community and experiences pain over its shortcommings as opposed to deriving some sort of perverse sense of vindication. I don't think either of those elemenst compromised Rabbi H's ability to make a powerfull statement that many if not most would agree with.
If you could integrate a reasonable measure of those elements into your posts and use them as an editorial standard for other's posts, you would immeasurably improve the imnpact of this blog.
