Sexually abused by a rabbi in her Lubavitch (a branch of Hasidism) community, abandoned by her parents, and turning to Bulimia to try and make herself disappear, Deena Chanowitz has stared down mountains of suffering to go from suicidal to getting into med school.
ZECHARIA WALLERSTEIN: THERE'S A VERY SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR YOU AND YOUR ILK! MIND-NUMBING DIRTBAG!
The so-called rav last words are, "Everyone's just angry! "Everyone's just angry!"... That is he's making the point that we should not be angry.... As he screams these words into the microphone.
He does have a bit of a point though. Granted there are individuals that experienced severe trauma but if everyone that suffered or was insulted by a rebbe/teacher etc. feels justified in going off the D then it's ridiculous. Sometimes authority figures that are meant to be respected do bad things, that's just life. Not all rebbeim are perfect. People need to toughen up and go on with life or at least seek professional help if necessary. There are a lot of people doing great things out there; better to focus on them as opposed to the few bad apples. Don't blame gd and all of Judaism because of these bad people.
Jeff. We are not talking minor abuse. We are talking sexual abuse which is akin to murder. This rabbi called the young man off the derech...which is motzee Shem rah...that young man us more on the derech than wallerstein. That young man's video did more than wallersteins rants. That young man did way more for survivors than wallerstein ever will. And if the rabbis claim about the holocaust were true.. There would be no claims conference funding for what our community calls holocaust victims!!! So this whole speech is one big lie.
Just listening on this guy makes we want to throw up.
