UOJ, That is not really news. What is news is that the Dialogue magazine also put out an issue covering these topics, and that means that your message has gotten to the UO, not just the MO.
I hear your pain, Rifki, but for a measly $8.50 or $10, you can own a copy of what in my opinion will be a collector's item in a few short years, akin to the great Jewish Observer issue on Kids at Risk. Furthermore, in over 100 pages, the Dialogue issue has much more practical info in my opinion, than the Tradition. Lehitraot!
There is something you do not understand, UOJ fan: Paying for Dialogue is supporting Aharon Feldman & Ner Yisroel who harbor child molesters like Moshe Eisemann and Isaac Neuberger. Therefore some girls like Rifki and some boys like me WILL NEVER PAY MONEY to AF or NY. Anyhow, Tradition is more liberal and has 142 pages. But if you have that Dialogue scan it for all to see!
I don't think RAF or NY is gaining financially if you purchase the magazine. Nor do I think he is harboring molesters (the ME fiasco happened before his time). The magazine offers an Agudah viewpoint which has been sorely missed since the 2008? demise of the Jewish Observer, and, like the JO, is obviously not a money making project. In any event, I picked up a copy at Eichlers in Flatbush and was shocked by the candid discussion and the extent to which the authors acknowledged the problem. It is very worthwhile in my opinion to read these articles, including sharp analysis of the problem, what can be done about it, why it is so hard for Rabbis to report someone...worth every penny!
You do not know the facts, FB. Aharon Feldman has been covering up for Moshe Eisemann all these years, and every new book by ME has AF's approbation. Eisemann still lives on Ner Yisroel campus, prays there and has students come to his house. He had a ministroke a couple of years ago and now walks with a walker. They wait for him to attend prayer services and give much respect to him. Students come to learn privately (or do other unmentionable things) with ME at his home on a daily basis. Now Dialogue is published by Itchie Lowenbraun, a Ner Yisroel man and a good friend and confidant of Moshe Eisemann, and Jewish Observer was closed partially because some people there had an ax to grind with ME. Dialogue is a worthless publication because they never practice what they preach. And besides officially selling their magazine, they do make money off many grants they receive. I know a few rich guys who support Dialogue, its writers and personally Aharon Feldman. AF even had a meeting of various "philanthropists" where he demanded generous contributions for his magazine. In any case, many people would not pay a penny for this fraud publication. If you bought a copy for yourself, you can do a "mitzvah" and scan it for everyone to see that "sharp analysis" you are talking about!
Aharon Feldman always sees Isaac Neuberger davening (often in his white lawyer hat) at Ner Yisroel. But he is not a Molester, FB, he is Neuberger, right?
A few years ago, as I visited my nephew at Ner Israel, I witnessed the following incident. After Shacharis (morning prayer) rabbi Aharon Feldman, the dean of Ner Israel, went into his office with a young and somewhat feminine looking student, who was holding a couple of religious books. They were inside for about 20 minutes. I saw people approaching the office, knocking at the door, one even tried to turn the doorknob, but the door was locked from inside, and rabbi Feldman did not open it to anyone. Suddenly, after 20 minutes, that young student ran out of the office. The boy's face was visibly pink, and his shirt was untucked. He quickly put his books on a table and ran to the dining room. About a minute later rabbi Aharon Feldman appeared in the doorway of his office. Gone were his black kappoteh and hat. He was standing there in his long white shirt atop his pants with his suspenders hanging to the floor. He looked somewhat deranged and in his atypical attire somehow reminded me of a baboon. Then he swiftly returned to his office. I went to the dining room and pointed that student to my nephew. "They learn together every day," was his innocent reply. That year, as my wife and I were cleaning for Pesach and took to the curb plastic bags with unused chametz and garbage, I placed on top of them a couple of books by rabbi Feldman that I found in our house. My generally unyielding wife agreed.
I had a conversation with Rabbi Nisson Wolpin where the subject of Ner Yisroel came up. He waved his hand and said, "Arayos Bli Achrayos." I am not sure if that had to do with the JO closing, but the commentator above is probably right.
UOJ, change the above link (it doesn't always work directly, folks may be redirected to a download page, may have to wait a few seconds for download to start) to a permanent direct link to the full PDF file:

ReplyDeleteInteresting commentary, but I don't know what to believe. Does anyone have more info of why the JO closed up shop?
