New York bans overnight children's summer camps

ALBANY NY (WRGB) - New York State has made the decision to ban overnight children’s camps as the coronavirus pandemic continues in the State.

The announcement from New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker comes less than two weeks after Governor Cuomo announced that day camps would be allowed to reopen. At the time of that announcement, the fate of overnight camps was said to be unclear.

Dr. Zucker said in a statement that, unlike day camps, overnight camps are a difficult setting to manage social distancing, face coverings, and other measures to reduce the spread of the virus.

He says that in the close sleeping conditions these camps afford to their occupants, "even a single positive case in a camper or staff member could create an untenable quarantine situation and overwhelm camp health personnel."

Dr. Zucker reinforced the idea that, even as the infection rate continues to fall in New York State, precautions must still be in place as to not undo all the progress made over the last several weeks.
"I have fond memories of summer sleepaway camp as a kid and I understand the role they play in childhood development and the disappointment this decision may bring to families across the state," Dr. Zucker continued. "But amid the worst public health crisis in a century, my number one priority is the health and safety of all New Yorkers."

Actually I have a better idea how to break this devastating news to Rabbeinu Shmuel.

    TalmudicalYeshiva@yahoo.com

Before I hit send to the Philly Yahoo account, I was thinking to do a delay mode that it's delivered tomorrow morning and then the earliest he'll read it is motzaei Shabbos. That way I won't have to run & hide under my bed until I'm anyway all tzeshvitzt from a gantz Shabbos. It is kind of squished & stuffy down there for someone my size you know. Do you guys know of any poskim who are mattir being mechaven to have an email delivered on Shabbos? It's poshut too embarrassing to ask this shayla to all our Agudah talmidei Philly poskim who Rabbeinu Shmuel was twisting their arms the whole time to sanction illegal yeshivos & minyanim.

Klein from Passaic has been sitting on shpilkees for months, scratching his head together with the Agudah how he's going to open his Camp Raninu in the Poconos. I saw some emails he's been issuing, trying to act like a cheerleader to the parents. Even running to Harrisburg to kiss the feet of Gov. Wolf's Chief of Staff.

He 'excitedly' announced today that he's opening & forcing all girls to be held hostage for 1 period of 6 consecutive weeks. It must be the only way he can still turn a decent profit which is what all this b.s. has been about from the start. He claims to be following CDC guidelines (I'm so "sure") but even those guidelines are a farce if someone wants to emerge alive. Trump decided the economy must go on so he edited the guidelines after the doctors wrote them before he released them.

Get this: Klein's lawyer drafted a waiver for all the parents to sign that if he kills your daughter you are mevatter. And even if she's still alive but if the State threatens him he'd better close the camp you are also mevatter on the money!

Shame on Rabbi Mordechai Dov Fine, de facto Chief Rabbi of Scranton, who is Mara d'Asra of the camp for going along with this.

How are they not ashamed of themselves? They have girls coming from the whole country, maybe virus hot spot South America too, who Klein deadpans they have to quarantine before camp for 5 days. 5 DAYS. And of course there is no way to verify they complied. There is so much other baloney they codified that I am going to barf if he have to hash it all out.

(But don't mention the nekuda that his father was forced to resign as White House Chief of Staff in 1991 for being caught ganvening)

    Mahaneh Agudah: Allah Akbar!

Well, it was already great news for me that the Agudah appointed me as a guru for camps this year. Yup, I savaged UOJ as best I could so they remembered me for my Scooby Snack reward.

Now I have to give special shkoyach to Zweibel & Shafran for their hysterical wording in the backhanded frrask they just gave to Cuomo, which will only increase how much work I have cut out for me, and hence how much bacon I will be bringing home! Who gives a rat's tuchess (thanks Oxiris) if this wording is misgareh b'Umos, as long as tze brengt mich a por dollar!:

"a blow to the physical, socioemotional, and psychological well-being of children who have already endured forced quarantine for nearly three months, as well as their religious development."
