Rav Elya Ber Wachtfogel Assumes EJF Leadership, Rav Leib Tropper Steps Down
Statement by the Eternal Jewish Family
The Eternal Jewish Family (EJF) announces today that Rav Elya Ber Wachtfogel, the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Zichron Moshe in South Fallsburg and one of the leading Gedolei Hatorah internationally, has agreed to assume the position of Chairman of the Rabbinic Committee of the Eternal Jewish Family following an announcement that Rav Leib Tropper has resigned that position effective December 12, 2009. Rav Wachtfogel joins a distinguished board of rabbinic and halachic authorities who oversee the activities of EJF, headed by Rav Reuven Feinstein, Chairman of the Halachic Committee (US), Dayan Chanoch Ehrentreu (Europe) and Rav Shmuel Eliezer Stern (Av Bais Din of Rabbi Wosner’s Bais Din – Israel).
EJF also announced that Rabbi Chaim Blum, EJF’s liaison to the network of Botei Din in the Torah community, has agreed to serve as interim director of EJF. The organization operates offices in the US, Europe and Israel with international headquarters in Monsey NY. In accepting the position, Rabbi Blum said: “The recent announcement by Rav Tropper that he is resigning his post at EJF is accepted with sadness and regret but we appreciate the years of dedication and service he brought to the organization. His vision, expertise and leadership significantly contributed to EJF’s success. The announcement by some of the world’s leading Torah authorities that they will take an increased role in the Eternal Jewish Family is testimony of the organization’s strength and commitment to its core mission. The many people who benefit from EJF’s activities should know that the organization remains fully committed to its important mission, one which has helped thousands of people in their pursuit of a Jewish life.”

I have decided to resign my position at the Eternal Jewish Family (EJF) effective December 12, 2009 to pursue a variety of other interests.
As a founder of EJF, I am proud of my role of being an architect of a very dynamic and important movement in our community. I will in the coming months do my utmost to be of service to the Jewish community in any way I can. I am extremely enthusiastic that a distinguished Torah personality of the stature of Rav Ela Ber Wachtfogel has agreed to assume my position of Chairman of the Rabbinic Committee and that Rabbi Chaim Blum has agreed to serve as interim director of EJF. I wish every continued success to EJF, its rabbinic leadership and the extraordinary team of dayanim and dedicated individuals that serve the organization in many parts of the world.

It is with a deep sense of regret and yet renewal that I note a change in leadership of the Eternal Jewish Family that includes the agreement by Rav Elya Ber Wachtfogel to serve as Chairman of the Rabbinic Committee of the Eternal Jewish Family. I hope that Rav Leib Tropper’s decision to resign his position at EJF will serve him and his family well. At the same time, I have also agreed to take on a more active role in overseeing all of the halachic nuances of EJF in assuring that all universally accepted conversions are in compliance with the highest standards of halacha. I wish to reassure the community that EJF will continue to be guided by the highest halachic standards under the leadership of the Gedolei Yisroel, headed by Rav Wachtfogel and myself in the US, Dayan Chanoch Ehrentreu in Europe and Rav Shmuel Eliezer Stern in Israel.

I went to a rov, telling him I had witnessed child abuse and asked him if I should call the police. It was partially my fault that he said no because I did express that I really didn't want to get involved with those nuts. Honestly however, there is really no way that Charlie Hynes would do anything and it probably did not rise to the level that any NYC DA would have the time to bother with it.
I do recommend though that you keep your children away from her when she gives gym / aerobics lessons at the summer hotel in the Catskills.

Conversion agency founder quits amid controversy

NEW YORK (JTA) -- The head of an organization that oversees conversions to Judaism has resigned amid accusations of sexual improprieties.
Rabbi Leib Tropper, head of the Eternal Jewish Family based in New York, is leaving the independent organization he founded five years ago.
Tropper, in a statement released this week by the organization, said his desire to “pursue a variety of other interests” led him to resign.
Stories have surfaced recently of his sexual misconduct while overseeing the conversion process. A woman, whose name has not been released, told FailedMessiah.com that Tropper allegedly asked for sexual favors in return for completing her conversion process.
Tropper, the woman claims, also arranged for sexual encounters between herself and Tropper's wife that the rabbi allegedly watched. Tropper also is accused of allegedly pressuring woman to engage in sexual encounters with other men.
According to FailedMessiah.com, the alleged female victim made unauthenticated video and audio tapes of sexual encounters with Tropper intended for leading rabbis involved with Eternal Jewish Family, yet the tapes were leaked through the Internet to various bloggers over the past few days.
“These tapes appear to support her claims,” FailedMessiah.com wrote.
Tropper did not address the accusations in the statement announcing his resignation.
Over the summer, billionaire EJF financier Guma Aguiar accused Tropper of embezzling funds from the organization, and the two since then have been engaged in an ongoing dispute.

WASHINGTON — Democratic Sen. Al Franken took the unusual step Thursday of shutting down Sen. Joe Lieberman on the Senate floor.
Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, currently is the target of liberal wrath over his opposition to a government-run insurance plan in the health care bill.
Franken was presiding over the Senate Thursday afternoon as Lieberman spoke about amendments he planned to offer to the bill. Lieberman asked for an additional moment to finish — a routine request — but Franken refused to grant the time.
"In my capacity as the senator from Minnesota, I object," Franken said.
"Really?" said Lieberman. "OK."
Lieberman then said he'd submit the rest of his statement in writing.
Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona came to his friend Lieberman's defense, saying he'd never seen such a thing occur.
"I must say that I don't know what's happening here in this body but I think it's wrong," McCain said on the floor.
Franken's spokeswoman, Jess McIntosh, said that the Minnesota senator wouldn't allow Lieberman to continue because time limits were being enforced by Senate leaders rushing to finish a defense spending bill and get to the health bill.

WASHINGTON — Rabbi Chaim Pinchos Scheinberg took the unusual step Thursday of shutting down Rav Pam's beis din looking into molestation by Yudi Kolko.
Rav Pam, a Torah Vodaas independent tzaddik, currently is the target of YTT-Agudah wrath over his opposition to a Margulies-run cover up plan.
Scheinberg was presiding over the scheme Thursday afternoon as Rav Pam spoke about investigations he planned to pursue. Rav Pam asked for an additional moment to finish — a routine request — but Scheinberg refused to grant the time.

Here is some interesting fodder for your blog, his sister in law Susan Blonde, his devoted sister in law, who is the original queen of PR and runs a PR agency in NY, she did PR for Michael Jackson and was behind the scenes in making him look good even when he was accused of molestation and making the accusers and parents of the molested boys look bad, and it worked, he was let go and never spent a day in jail. She will try to now do the same for her dear sister and brother in law Tropper are being framed by Guma et al.

On one EJF propaganda video, there is an intermarried couple from South Fallsburg who got hooked up with Tropper through the local shul rabbi. That would be Rabbi Barros.
If you dig a little, some very strange things emerge here. The woman in the video, if you look closely, is wearing a non-tzniusdik short sleeve shirt that only appears for a split second.
Doesn't Tropper (outside of personal indiscretions bechadrei chadarim) call for a strict dress code?
As far as Barros, he used to be a rabbi in San Francisco where he was involved in a kashrus scandal. Because he was a Kol Yaakov talmid, rabbonim called up Tropper to get him to rein in his boy. Tropper pulled a stunt he is known for and completely disowned him. He made it sound like Barros was just some drifter that maybe lasted a few weeks by him. Tropper said the same thing to newspaper reporters when another Kol Yaakov musmach was molesting people in Southern California.
Not much after this, Barros was the guest of honor at the Kol Yaakov dinner. And now you have Barros directing intermarried hicks from Upstate to EJF. Not bad for someone Tropper supposedly had no recollection of.

This same EJF self-promotional pr video is posted on the MySpace page of a young lady by the name of "Shannon" from "Houston, US" open to public display that a number of recent posts on some blogs here and here have indicated is the alleged woman on the notorious Tropper tapes.
There are a few important things to note judging by the her own posts on that page:
1) She is obviously proud of her connection to EJF and to Rabbi Tropper because the EJF video has his image on it first before it starts rolling.
2) She loves Israeli and Jewish things judging by her clips of Israeli singers, and that would be so because she also:
3) Posts a video to "Aaronic Benediction with Beth Messiah" which means that she probably admires and has connections to Christian missionary and evangelical groups, who admire Israel and want to connect with Jews. Perhaps she was on her way to finding Judaism when she found Tropper instead, or perhaps not.
Putting these pieces together, it means that she had no problems seeking out the likes of Rabbi Troppper/EJF seeking a conversion and that she is still very proud of it on her MySpace page.
This revelation, that "Shannon" from Houston US on MySpace is one and the same as the lady in Houston, Texas, as Tropper notes, on the tapes with Tropper seeking his thrills. This may well be the next stage of the revelations promised by the "Ezekiel 8:Groups 12/13" that has felled Tropper once and for all.
Yet another blogger speaks openly of the now-known identity of Tropper's alleged mistress in Houston, Texas: "Is The World 6,000 Years Old?...Jimmy emails: Rabbi Leib Tropper is infamous for promoting and enforcing the requirement that converts believe that the world is less than 6000 years old....Well get this: Shannon Orand, his mistress, promoted a speech by Gerald Schroeder, the Orthodox apologist whose shtick is explaining the true age of the Earth is not a contradiction with the Torah! If the remaining EJF rabbis do not put an abrupt and honorable end to EJF and remove themselves fully and unconditinally from it in short order, then ALL they can expect is massive public ridicule, loss of their own prestige, and undermine whatever shred of remaining trust many had in the geirus system that EJF/Tropper shouted that they were pushing but in fact have undermined beyond anything imaginable.

She's a relatively well-known person, deals with Christian and Jewish missionary issues (whos side she's on is not clear) and seems to be working for Outreach Judaism headed by one of Tropper's arch foes Rabbi Tovia Singer who also happens to be Guma Aguiar's rabbi, and then again, does she? Stung by the intense White House effort to court the votes of moderate holdouts like Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, independent of Connecticut, and Senator Ben Nelson, Democrat of Nebraska, liberals are signaling that they have compromised enough. Grass-roots groups are balking, liberal commentators are becoming more critical of the president, some unions are threatening to withhold support and Howard Dean, the former Democratic Party chief, is urging the Senate to kill its health bill.
The White House scrambled Thursday to tamp down the revolt, which has been simmering for weeks but boiled over when the Senate Democratic leadership, bowing to Mr. Lieberman, scrapped language allowing people as young as 55 to buy into Medicare.
David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, began the day by calling into MSNBC to urge the party to hold together, warning of a “tragic outcome” if Democrats failed to pass a bill that the White House says would expand health coverage while reining in costs.
“I don’t think you want this moment to pass,” Mr. Axelrod said. “It will not come back again.”
Former President Bill Clinton echoed the theme, issuing a statement in which he urged fellow Democrats to “take it from someone who knows: these chances don’t come around every day.” Mr. Clinton’s former chief of staff, John Podesta, a close Obama ally, pushed back against Mr. Dean on the Internet and on television.
The backlash is building as Mr. Obama is under increasing pressure from his party’s left flank on issues ranging from the economy to Afghanistan. This week alone, the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, declared that she would not insist that her caucus vote to finance Mr. Obama’s troop buildup, while Senator Bernard Sanders, the Vermont independent and self-avowed democratic socialist, chastised the president for reappointing Ben S. Bernanke as chairman of the Federal Reserve.
The left’s disenchantment with Mr. Obama on health care harks back to his decision, before he became president, not to try to replace the current private insurance system with a single-payer, government-run “Medicare for all” system. Throughout the year, at town-hall-style meetings and other public appearances, he has been dogged by advocates who have complained that he has sold out.
Instead, the president proposed what he called the public option, a government-run insurance plan that would coexist with private plans on a new health insurance exchange. For many on the left who are also dissatisfied with a deal the White House cut with the pharmaceutical industry, the public option was itself a compromise.
Now that the Senate Democratic leadership has stripped the last vestige of the public option — the Medicare buy-in provision — from its bill, progressives are feeling doubly betrayed.
“It’s time for the president to get his hands dirty,” Representative Anthony Weiner, Democrat of New York, said in a statement this week. “Some of us have compromised our compromised compromise. We need the president to stand up for the values our party shares.”

The analyst’s training was so substandard that at one point last year, investigators discovered he could not properly operate a microscope essential to performing his job, the report released on Thursday said.
And when the State Police became aware of the analyst’s misconduct, an internal review by superiors in the Albany lab deliberately omitted information implicating other analysts and suggesting systemic problems with the way evidence was handled, the report said. Instead, the review focused blame mostly on the analyst, Garry Veeder, who committed suicide in May 2008 during the internal inquiry.
“Cutting corners in a crime lab is serious and intolerable,” said the state’s inspector general, Joseph Fisch. “Forensic laboratories must adhere to the highest standards of competence, independence and integrity. Anything less undermines public confidence in our criminal justice system.”
Several lab workers whose actions were criticized in the report remain in their jobs pending an internal review of the inspector general’s findings, the State Police said.

At one chassuna 5 years ago, a tzedaka was cheated out of the leftover meal portions because these grubba crooks took them all. They tried to deny it but then they were fingered by witnesses, so they hired a lawyer and claimed they go around to collect food from simcha halls on behalf of aniyim - which is of course still stealing if they don't have permission to take it. But then, 2 more witnesses who were in front of their house on East 27th smelled a very distinct aroma wafting out of their windows that was a unique dish they stole to fress themselves that was catered by Feuereisen. Since they had no terutz anymore and they had no intention of paying back the tzedaka, they got Mendel Epstein's gang from the Iggud Ganovim to harass the baalei simcha. And their lawyer who is a fresser from Agudah of Ave L, violated the State ethics code while defending them.

Please check your information before posting things as facts. Rabbi Dovid Tropper in LA is a cousin of LT, and his son is the one who opened that new yeshiva. LT also has a brother with the name Dovid, hence the confusion.
Staten Island yeshiva is one of the weirdest, creepiest places I have ever visited. I was itching to get out of there after a few minutes.
Why are R' Reuvein & Rav Mintz running a place which such a creepy atmosphere? This is not what yeshivos are supposed to be.

The oldest Weintraub daughter once got into a dispute with a woman. So get this ... she physically assaults the woman's 4 month old infant. The victims called the police but the Weintraubs lied through their teeth and made bogus counter-accusations. The cops said they weren't laying charges because they didn't know who to believe but suggested to the victims before driving off that they could ask Hynes to file charges(yeah right?) or file a civil suit. A bunch of rabbonim got involved with some of them actually encouraging that Weintraubs be pursued and some vehemently against it. Nothing happened in the end.

I have information that Abady is supposedly some kind of Tropper groupie baal teshuva and that his wife Jane Watson had a gerus about 20 years ago.
