Sorting Through The Rubble - The Message Is Clear!
The UOJ Vault - June 2009 - 1,324,564 Views
Don't take my word for it!
Don't believe a word I say - unless I can logically and factually back it up. And the same goes for anyone with a message, any message from any messenger. It's either true and can be established, or it's hyperbole and rabble-rousing by clown-type imbeciles, costume and all, with nothing else to say but "trust me", I know what's best for you, your children and everyone that I/we deem a Torah-true Jew.
This has been the mindset for at least two decades, certainly since the passing of Rabbi Yaakov Kaminetzky z"tvkl. And Rav Yaakov saw this era coming, the era of Yiddishkeit being distorted and shredded by people with absolutely no sense of reality, and the lack of understanding and caring that what was good for the individual, the yachid - was good for the klal - the masses --- and not the other way around.
So, if thousands of kids were herded through a flawed yeshiva system, a system that did NOT care for the individual child, but rather thrived on numbers, and raised funds based upon being the "biggest" yeshiva, with great numbers of kids in their system, the individual - mostly regular great kids, very normal kids that needed unconditional love and attention, would get lost in the shuffle.
Rav Yaakov understood that, Rav Elya Svei did not. The Lakewood gang did not and we are now paying the price; thousands of families that were emotionally forced to engage in this fraud called kollel, are now poverty stricken, and a great deal of them, their parents, and their children paid with their souls. This community induced poverty was a desperate attempt by the Establishment to reel in the masses under the control of a few. If you need organizations and yeshivas to sustain you and your family, who would bite the hand that feeds you?
Entire families are disenchanted with Judaism, not just children. I guess the Agudath Israel can now develop a new government sponsored program -- call it Project NO - and have it headed by one of their own, someone who talks the talk, walks the walk, but when it comes down to the underlying failures of the program, for the inability to comprehend and address the real issues, old and new, he will toe the line of the establishment, rather than standing up for the brutal reality, and those victimized and re-victimized.
It was not that long ago when an acquaintance of mine, a true ben Torah with a large family living in Lakewood, took a chainsaw, and decapitated himself. Other contemporaries of mine have confided in me that they despise what has become of them, and hate waking up in the morning. They have been totally neutered, by them having to rely on their wives supporting them, and regularly signing documents to enable them to receive Welfare in one form or another.
A bright high school buddy of mine died oh so young, by intentionally destroying his body with food and alcohol and God knows what else he consumed to put himself out of his misery. He was not a flunky kindergarten rebbe, he founded and headed a large school.
Another former yeshiva friend, was instructed by his rosh yeshiva to go on a taanit dibbur, stop speaking entirely, until he purged himself from his inclination to gossip and speak loshon hara. He cracked up and spent years in a mental institution. He lives in Lakewood, the last I heard was that he is permanently emotionally disabled.
These are not isolated cases, there are countless horror stories similar to the above that I am aware of.
My educated and informed guess is that Shua Finkelstein in Lakewood put himself out of his misery, because the Lakewood Mafia protected his molester. His molester is part of a family that donates large sums of money to Lakewood - Beth Medrash Govoha. The Lakewood philosophy of dealing with child-abusers in a "respectful and dignified" fashion, in my opinion, played no small role in Shua's death.
It is no coincidence in my mind, that David "Fifi" Zahler, who over the last years developed a close relationship with Moshe Eisemann on the Ner Israel campus in Baltimore, intentionally jumped to his death. Nobody dares to say this publicly, that's why I will.
The System is broken, it collapsed under its own fraudulent weight; the evidence surrounds and envelops you, but you refuse, or are too petrified to deal with this reality!
"Once we could say we didn’t know. Now we know." Borrowing from David Zwiebel's "confession" -- David, we now know as well, you and your organization, Agudath Israel, are pitifully corrupt and morally inept, nobody should be trusting any important life and death issue to you and your cohorts! And that's believing for a brief moment that in fact you now know because you really know or because you were "forced" to know, rather than choose to know. In either case, evidence of sexual child-abuse in Orthodox Jewish schools and camps has been festering out there for some fifty years, including in your own summer camp and in hundreds of your directly affiliated schools, and yet you did nothing to protect these violated children, and did everything to protect the vile child sex-abusers and the criminal, despicable rabbis that protected them.
You all have lost any moral authority on this issue -- and worse, you all deserve to be held criminally negligent and responsible for the thousands of troubled lives and God only knows how many related, self-destroyed lives by children who could no longer bear the pain.
So, I'll have none of your continued lies; when I chose to dig deep into the authenticity of what else you and the likes of you were selling; I became aware of the extent of your involvement in covering up these unspeakable crimes, and I, to my horror, discovered that except for a handful, the rest of you are petty, conniving, mind-thieves without a scintilla of a moral conscience.
The message is so apparent -- none of these rabbis should be able to dictate to you what's in your best interest -- because they are destroying our Jewish heritage to cover up their own crimes, where "d'racheha darchei noam" should be first and foremost; instead they are damning our children and ultimately us, all of us, to an unsustainable and self-destructive life that is causing misery and desperation to the vast majority of Orthodox Jews. We must set up a bulwark that will prevent the espousing of poverty and misery as a way of life, foolproof systems of protecting our children, in and out of yeshivas, from those that would destroy them by enfeebling their minds with their self-manufactured religious rubbish, and not protecting their physical and emotional well-being that were entrusted to their care; that not only is the antithesis of everything Jewish, but it is anti-Jewish!
Rabbis and their underlings, that would protect pedophiles and their enablers at the expense of our children and our families -- whether the crime occurred yesterday or forty years ago, must be treated as amongst the greatest enemies that ever faced the Jewish nation.
These rabbis stand stark naked before us -- and it is ugly! They must be taken down!

Hundreds of Jewish pilgrims rioted with police in the Ukrainian city of Uman Friday during a pilgrimage to the grave of a Jewish sage. Local police used dogs, violence, and pepper spray to disperse a crowd of about 500 Jewish pilgrims which had surrounded two Ukrainian men in a parked car they allegedly caught stealing from a residential building rented out by Jewish visitors.
Two Israeli policemen in uniform helped calm the situation.
The Israeli police officers, one from Tel Aviv and one from the Negev District, then told the crowd that the situation was under control and that everyone should go back to prayer. As they and the Ukrainian police walked off, the mob began booing and jeering the Israel police.
After the crowd subsided, Israel police officer Zohar Riar stood next to a Ukrainian police post smoking a cigarette and smiling with his local counterparts.
Riyar said it was his first time in Uman, but that every year the police send two officers to help patrol the event and that they deal with “no shortage of nonsense”
When asked to elaborate, Riar said “people get drunk and act crazy in the streets, go out to pubs and hit on women and harass them. They do all types of things that they would never do in Israel, but they come out here and feel like they can do it.”
Riar, who along with his colleague from Tel Aviv is unarmed, said they are beholden to Ukrainian law and “work as a go-between for the Jews and the local police. We are between the hammer and the nail.”
Though the pilgrims almost universally view the local Ukranians and their police as hostile and rabidly anti-Semitic, Riar said he gets along with them well, and that “it’s not them that are tough or harsh, it’s the law that’s tough. They have no concept of "proper use of force", if they want to use force, or arrest someone, they just do it. I speak to them about these sorts of concepts and they just give me a blank expression.”

Someone in charge at Pomegranate Flatbush has been telling customers that they do not source ANY fish that has even a cheshash of anisakis worms.
This picture from Chevrah Mehadrin of Monsey shows Shindler's breaded flounder filets as having the cheshash. Pomegranate likes to create the impression that their food is gourmet and made fresh on the spot. In many instances however it is run of the mill food with their fancy logo tacked on, sometimes with the false description "home made". I overheard a conversation that Pomegranate owner Avrohom Banda had with J.J. the fish dept manager (not the person giving false anisakis info) that they are repackaging their breaded flounder filets from Shindler's.
The reason why I overheard this conversation opens up a new window into what kind of hazardous & nasty things Pomegranate does to their customers as will soon be explained. It is mamash mayseh behaymah what they are doing with complete disregard for the Torah and even basic public relations.

Newt Gingrich said this weekend that President Obama exhibited “Kenyan, anticolonial behavior,” an observation that drew angry if puzzled responses from Democrats and questions about Mr. Gingrich’s meaning and motivation.
Mr. Gingrich, who is mulling a bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, made the comments to National Review Online. He was quoted by the conservative Web site as saying: “What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anticolonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]? That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”
Commenting on a recent article in Forbes by Dinesh D’Souza, Mr. Gingrich told National Review Online that Mr. Obama “is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president.”
“I think he worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating — none of which was true,” Mr. Gingrich was quoted as saying.
Same talking points as Agudah: "dignity", statute of limitations, etc

BRUSSELS — The head of the Roman Catholic Church here acknowledged on Monday the scale of the scandal that has engulfed Belgium over sexual abuse by priests and promised to engage further with victims, but he offered few short-term solutions and said little of substance about further pursuing the abusers.
“We must listen to their questions to re-establish their dignity and help them to heal the suffering they have endured,” he told a news conference in Brussels.
But there was no clear proposal for pursuing the perpetrators of abuse or for compensating their victims, largely in part because much of the wrongdoing took place more than 10 years ago, past the statute of limitations — a fact that disappointed some groups representing those affected.
The scandal first became public when the former bishop of Bruges, Roger Vangheluwe, resigned in April after admitting he had abused a boy later revealed to be his nephew. Mr. Vangheluwe said Saturday that he would leave the Trappist monastery where he had been living and go into hiding.

I hope Hurricane Igor isn't named for some Russian kid molested in a Torah Umesorah day school. This is expected to go to category 5 which is some revenge.

Facing one of the more contentious re-election campaigns of his 40-year career, United States Representative Charles B. Rangel waded into a polarizing debate on Wednesday as he spoke out in favor of an Islamic center and mosque planned near ground zero.
This is a serious problem. Have you seen what kind of hair raising things the Chof K has been promoting lately? They are publishing psokim of Belsky that have been edited by Bentzion Schiffenbauer. In one of the latest releases, Belsky says that bassar she'nisalaim basically doesn't exist even in unpopulated areas altz mirsas because the goyish delivery guy is afraid of getting fired.
Do any poskim mention this for unpopulated areas or is this another vildah Belsky invention?
If you were wondering who Schiffenbauer is, he is a rov in the Flatlands and the head of Torah Temimah's "Vaad Hahorim" which means he took orders from Lipa Margulies and (Moish Finkel's mechutan) Yankel Appelgrad to make sure there were no investigations when parents complained that their kids were molested by Kolko. Schiffenbauer has been bellyaching for years to his kehillah that Kolko is "innocent".
There goes the local Jewish Times again like everyone complains here, helping another piece of scum promote himself as a good guy.
Naftali Solomon who owns the insurance company in Crown Heights hosted a party for Phil Goldfeder running for Assembly. Phil used to work for Chuck Schumer.
Naftali Solomon is a hardened criminal who started as a young kid with bank & credit card fraud. He was arrested multiple times. He didn't just steal from companies with credit cards made out to fake names but he stole from yeshiva guys in the dorm. That's right he was using yeshivas as a base to commit fraud. He used all their office resources by breaking in at night.
If I worked for Chuck Schumer I wouldn't be able to hold my food down

"Run / Walk for Israel" which is the annual "ervah central" run by Queens Vaad shuls has come & gone again. Don't think they tamped down a bit this year on encouraging ervah d'Oraysah (after coming under criticism) to now give participants T-shirts instead of tank tops and this way the women only had their arms exposed instead of being in gantzen orum. Because this year they offered "MASSAGES" in the oyfan of a Black woman massaging the men. They even have a picture of it on the website of a sponsoring Queens Vaad shul!
The event has also become an avenue for mingling with goyim. Word has gotten around that it's a fun event and now many of the participants listed on the website have names that are Black, Hispanic, Chinese, Korean, Italian, Greek, etc
They have the nerve to write at the top of the event website (linked from the Facebook page) "besiyata Dishmaya".
And the shul of the Queens Vaad's posek is still sponsoring this year.
Also sponsoring again is the "frum" politician David Weprin who davens in a Queens Vaad shul and who works hand in hand with the Queens Vaad which is all the more weird considering the letter in this week's Yated from Queens Vaad El Presidente Joel Schonfeld in response to the ridiculous letter in last week's Yated from former Agudah EVP Shmuel Bloom on Anthony Weiner, that Bloom feels sick seeing Weiner who is married to an Arab at the Agudah dinner but assumes there was some sort of heter although he admits he didn't make the slightest effort to find out if any adam gadol was mattir when the gedolim already clearly assered. Schonfeld writes criticizing both Bloom and the Agudah, not for Weiner (maybe because Queens Vaad Executive Drecktor Chaim Schwartz goes running to shake Weiner's hand?), but for allowing another "frum" politician, Sheldon Silver, to stand next to roshei yeshiva when he rammed the gay bill through the Assembly. Schonfeld says the Agudah farentfered that they only allow Silver to come but do not give him any kibbudim.
Maybe Joel Schonfeld should reconsider the Vaad's hypocritical stance of embracing David Weprin at every opportunity when he not only votes for every pro-gay measure but is the actual sponsor who brings the measure to a vote. But then again, it's not like Joel is someone to ruffle the feathers of wealthy modern orthodox Queens baal habatim who think that Zionism takes the place of Yiddishkeit, rachmono litzlon.
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad when the Yated gives space to Bloom to respond to Schonfeld's letter. He tells Schonfeld he missed the boat and goes on to lavish more praise on the Agudah that in his opinion, they always do the right thing which is often an unpopular stance that they get flack for. Bloom then paints himself as a conscience of sorts of the Klal, appointed (by himself) to murmur out loud that maybe the Agudah is wrong before beating himself back into a position of no, avadda the organization I once led myself is completely infallible.
It's most sickening when a story about keeping yeshivah guys away Chulent gets more comments than a story about stopping smoking. Yet that is what you'll see in this meshuggeneh velt. The RY from Mir has asked that stores close around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday night to prevent the milling around and letz attitudes of some of his talmidim. That and the virulent addicts who hold that smoking cigarettes is not only muttar but a mitzvah are turning my stomach today.
Add to that the adherents to law and order, meticulous defenders of Yiddishkeit who are glad to see a bicycle rider killed because she, at best a Jew in name only, was riding on Shabbos.
The cancer of ingnoramuskeit is spreading to the minyans. Bilam states that like young lions we rise to do Hashem's bidding. Rashi explains we get up to daven, to learn. Rashi would probably not recognize Yiddishkeit today as what he was referring to in his explanation. The enemy is us, rabbosai. When are we going to realize that we allow ourselves to be led and that we are responsible for following Hashem, not abdicating or obfuscating, but following. Woe to us and to this generation that finds chulent and smoking, texting on Shabbos, drinking schnapps till you vomit, as worthy pursuits. Woe to a generation that pursues money and honor. The enemy is us as we see.
If his name wasn't Shmuel Bloom, even the Yated would never publish drivel like that. No wonder the Agudah is such a disaster when he ran the show for years!
The Agudah doesn't give Shelly Siver any kibbudim?
Just look at the lower half of page 50 in this weeks Jewish Press.

Jews and Evangelicals stand with Church against contraception mandate
By Benjamin Mann
Washington D.C., Jan 5, 2012 / 06:11 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Evangelical and Jewish leaders are supporting the Catholic Church's opposition to proposed federal rules requiring contraception and sterilization coverage in most new health care plans.
In a Dec. 21 letter to President Barack Obama, more than 60 religious leaders affirmed that “religious organizations beyond the Catholic community have deep moral objections” to providing abortion-causing drugs and other controversial services.
Authors of the letter included Orthodox Jewish representatives, along with figures from various Christian organizations, including National Association of Evangelicals President Leith Anderson, Ron Sider of Evangelicals for Social Action, and Christian Legal Society Executive Director Fred L. Potter.
They expressed “solidarity” with the Catholic leaders and organizations that have already spoken out against the contraception mandate proposed by the Obama administration's Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
The rule, published in August 2011 as part of federal health care reform, would allow a religious ministry to opt out only if it has “the inculcation of religious values as its purpose,” and primarily employs and serves “persons who share its religious tenets.”
In their letter to President Obama, the Christian and Jewish leaders made it clear that Catholics are not the only groups opposed to the rule.
“Most press reports on the controversy concerning the contraceptives mandate portray the opposition as coming only from the Catholic Church and Catholic organizations,” they noted.
“But this is wrong. It is emphatically not only Catholics who deeply object to the requirement that health plans they purchase must provide coverage of contraceptives that include some that are abortifacients.”
They pointed out that many religious believers share the Catholic Church's objection to a “narrow exemption” that does not cover “churches with a social outreach and other faith-based organizations” whose work “goes beyond worship and prayer.”
Neither Evangelicalism nor Judaism holds a single consistent position on contraception, a fact the signers of the letter acknowledged.
Despite differences in their moral teachings, however, all of the authors said they were “deeply concerned about the narrow exemption, including proposals made to expand it while still leaving unprotected many faith-based organizations.”
The Department of Health and Human Services stopped accepting feedback on the proposed mandate at the end of September 2011. A Health and Human Services official told CNA Jan. 4 that there is “no statutory deadline by which a final rule must be issued” after the end of the comment period.
"There is no easy out from this trap. We must be careful not to repeat the mistake of the zealots and fail to consider the costs and benefits of our reaction. For that reason, it was unthinkable to join the demonstration in Ramat Beit Shemesh last week, whose organizers are using Naama to promote a left-wing, anti-religious agenda."
