A Chareidi man was violently attacked yesterday morning by a bus driver in Bnei Brak after he signaled for him to stop at the bus station, B’Chadrei Chareidim reported.

The attack was videoed by passerby.

The bus driver, an employee of Afikim, was subsequently dismissed from his position following intervention of Transportation Ministry officials.

Police are investigating if the incident warrants criminal charges.

The Chareidi man is currently a resident of Ashdod but since his official residence is still listed as Bnei Brak, he traveled there to vote. He voted & was about to board a bus back to Ashdod when he was attacked by the driver, which left him with broken glasses & wounds on his face.

“I ran toward the bus while signaling to the driver to stop,” the man told B’Chadrei. “After I knocked on the door, he began to drive anyway. Suddenly he stopped the bus, got off & began to punch me.”

The man said he felt the driver’s hatred of him. “With the whole situation of public incitement, incidents like these have even worse consequences.”

So who is behind all of the "public incitement?"

COVID-weary is lav davka. It just means NY-NJ is boring already to Fressers who would love to spread infection in the Sunshine State!

(The full monty is a British slang phrase of uncertain origin. It means "everything necessary, appropriate or possible; or "going the whole hog")

Businesses, caterers, volunteers & vacationing Fressers, are among many geared up for a busy 2021 Pesach in Orlando, with 100,000+ people coming to Central Florida for Yomtov.

With few hotel programs operating & an ideal weekday Chol Hamoed for trips, this Pesach created the perfect storm for Orlando. COVID-weary families eager for a change of pace set sights on the area months ago, some looking to enjoy a relatively simple Yomtov, while others found paths to ultra-luxurious experiences.

“Every caterer without a job showed up on the scene to offer the full monty,” Miami's Dovid Goldwasser, involved in large scale Pesach planning in Orlando, said. “There are even people making their own programs with chefs, party planners & waiters.”

Private home developments function entirely as resort communities, erecting tents for shul & kiddushim. In some developments, food's prearranged individually to each home, with full program including day camp, shiurim, entertainment & more. Kosher supermarkets in major cities ship to Orlando. Goldwasser’s trucking-logistics company had 12 trucks on the road yesterday transporting luggage, food & even cars to Orlando from across the US & Canada.

“There are so many ways to do it no matter the budget, options for everyone,” explained Goldwasser.

In 7 years in Orlando, Goldwasser's seen the Pesach landscape explode, then the pandemic pushed things to even higher levels.

“Enormous numbers of people newly discovered Orlando this year, because in the height of COVID it's a non-hotel option,” noted Goldwasser. “You can go quarantine in your own home & pool. So Orlando's on fire!”

Goldwasser recalled his 1st Pesach in Orlando, a fellow Hatzalah member reached out to him 2 days to Yomtov suggesting they respond to emergencies. By the time of the Seder, they had 20+ members on hand as EMTs. While Hatzalah Orlando's not a govt-recommended EMS, 150 emergency calls were recorded in Pesach 2019. Goldwasser estimates 160 Hatzalah units in 12 neighborhoods this Pesach.

“It’s a numbers game,” said Goldwasser. “The more people, the more calls we get, but also means we've more Hatzalah units on hand.”

Even when on vacation, Chaverim members also work Orlando, responding to lockouts, battery issues, flat tires, etc.

Understanding Orlando Jewish eateries can't possibly accommodate a vast influx of visitors, many kosher restaurants in other cities send food trucks to Orlando for extra revenue on Pesach.

“Milchig, fleishig, ice cream trucks – you name it, so many businesses come to Orlando for Pesach, from photogs to sheitel machers & more. Everyone brings their talent to Orlando. Being there anyway, they can service the Klal & make money.”

Flatbush Shomrim is proud to announce our marked official vehicles will patrol on all nights of Yom Tov to ensure safety & peace of mind of all in the community. Our patrol cars will be manned by retired NYPD officers, who will be out almost all night, ensuring everyone gets home safely after the Sedarim.

We encourage residents who're away for Pesach to keep an eye on their security cameras from wherever you may be. For those who do not have cameras, we suggest getting the Ring or Blink cameras. They are inexpensive, efficient & accessable from anywhere.

We'd be remiss if we omitted it’s exactly 1 year since we were suddenly thrown into the COVID crisis, utilizing our volunteers with a team of doctors-nurses to deliver 100s upon 100s of oxygen concentrators to many sick people in Flatbush. We thank our devoted, dedicated Shomrim volunteers who worked 24 hours a day, straight thru the Sedarim, as they assisted with oxygen. The community also stepped up, graciously donating to purchase the equipment needed to save lives. Shomrim also thanks our partners Flatbush Hatzolah, notably Coordinators Moshe Wulliger & Alan Esses, with whom our COVID Coordinators worked hand in hand, day in, day out, as well as with the highly successful plasma blood drives.

Gov Cuomo’s family & others with ties to the administration received priority COVID testing last year, the Albany Times Union reports today.

3 people with direct knowledge of the matter told the Times Union that Cuomo & Health Commissioner Howard Zucker instructed high-level officials at the NYS Dept of Health to personally conduct prioritized testing for these individuals. Cuomo’s brother, mother & at least one of his sisters were among those tested.

Health officials traveled to private residences to test. The “sampling missions” upset some of the officials, who were removed from work duties to test, according to a source.

2 sources said Eleanor Adams, who became special adviser to Zucker in August, tested Cuomo’s brother Freddo Cuomo, a CNN anchor, at his Hamptons mansion. Freddo tested positive for the virus in March, which he milked in an attempt to become a celebrity from it.

"To do direct clinical work was total time-suck away from their duties," a source told the newspaper. "It was like wartime, except it was corrupt cronyism."

A source told the Times Union that tests from those close to the gov, code named “critical samples,” were moved to the front of the line at Wadsworth Lab in Albany.

Cuomo administration officials denied to the paper that in Mar 2020 testing was favorable to VIPs, as public nurses were even taken to private homes in New Rochelle to test people who had symptoms or close contact to COVID. (This actually raises more questions than answers, like who did Young Israel of New Rochelle members have protekzia with?)

Rich Azzopardi, senior bag man for the gov, called the allegations "insincere efforts to rewrite history” in a statement to The Hill newspaper.

"Early in the pandemic, with emphasis on contact tracing, we went above & beyond to get people tested, including going to homes & door-to-door in New Rochelle, to take samples from those exposed to COVID to ID cases & prevent additional ones. We assisted the public, legislators, reporters, state workers & their families, who feared they contracted the virus & could further spread it,” he added.

Health Dept spokesman Gary Holmes deflected that questioning Cuomo & his inner circle on the controversy, means "you're effectively asking us, we the professionals who took an oath to protect patient privacy, to violate that oath & compromise our own integrity. 43 million New Yorkers have been tested. Commenting on any of them is a serious violation of medical ethics. We built nation-leading test infrastructure to ensure anyone who needs a test gets it. That continues today.”

What's pshat with this moderner shoyteh Mirvis telling Yidden to actually follow these misguided "laws"?:

UK Jews will not be legally allowed to celebrate Pesach Sedarim with extended family members this year, the 2nd year in a row that Pesach will be celebrated during lockdown.

“It’s very painful for us,” Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis told the PA news agency. “It's very difficult.”

People will celebrate “in a lonely way” the 2nd year in a row, Rabbi Mirvis said.

“But we respect regulations given to us. Preserving life is top priority, acting legally, respecting Government wishes. This is our top priority.”
