Rape, Incest Among Slew Of New Charges Filed Against Baltimore Jewish High School Teacher
Days after being released on bond following an arrest for child pornography offenses, Zev Steen was rearrested and slapped with new charges — among them, rape and incest.
The former STEM teacher at the all-girls Orthodox Jewish day school Bnos Yisroel in Baltimore was terminated from that position and let go of others he held in the community after authorities busted him with child porn.
Had that been all, Steen may have considered himself lucky, as authorities ultimately found out something he'd likely had known all along. On Tuesday, Nov. 15, officials announced Steen been rearrested for new damning offenses stemming from an alleged incident in December 2005, according to court records.
The new charges include first-degree rape, sex abuse of a minor, assault, child abuse, child porn, incest, perverted practice and more.
Steen has not been released from jail this time, and is currently being held without bond.
Steen became the center of an investigation after he was linked to websites sharing child pornography online, state police said. A search of his laptop and external hard drive determined that he had "numerous" child porn files that he was unsuccessful in deleting.
Steen's LinkedIn profile says he's the CEO of MirageID, an identity-tracking company. He was also heavily involved in TAG (Technology Awareness Group) Baltimore, which "provides free guidance on choosing devices, step-by-step filter installs, and live tech support 20 hours a day," its website says. TAG announced that they terminated Steen on Tuesday, Nov. 8 but did not provide a reason.
“We are horrified and saddened to have to write and share this letter,” school officials previously said. “It is important to recognize that this traumatic experience presents an opportunity to have a conversation with your child about personal safety.
“We will continue to communicate with you, our parents, and our partners, as necessary.”
Steen is scheduled to return to court in both cases next month.

Rabbi Moshe Eisemann schooled many rabbis and leaders of Baltimore. Yet when that pedophile got into trouble, most of these “students of Balaam” abandoned their beloved — in the most literal sense! — teacher. Rabbi Eisemann (whom his own family lately removed from Ner Israel and confined to a hospice following his devastating stroke) would be much proud of his students! If they do not get caught, of course. But that is what just happened to his dear Zev (a.k.a. William) Steen! The guy learned in both Baltimore Ner Israel high school and yeshiva. Besides Eisemann, he was very close to corrupt rabbis Yosef Tendler (Ner Israel high school principal) and Moshe Heinemann (head of Agudath Israel and STAR-K). Steen compiled a book of rabbi Heinemann’s teachings (besides filming and editing some videos for him), and he would constantly secretly record conversations between other students (who criticized rabbis) and give tapes to rabbi Tendler (yes, that was before MP3s, however, many innocent teenagers were expelled because of his tapes).
Perhaps cunningly playing around with a tape recorder made him believe
he was a tech wiz. He got married, graduated Ner Israel and became a
successful businessman, heavily involved in modern technology: He was
one of the first Baltimore “frummies” to start selling online, and one
of his roles in the Orthodox Jewish community was to install Internet

life because she frequented him at yeshiva and work to see if the
environment looked kosher enough.) But aren’t we talking about a Balaam-Eisemann student? He just got arrested on child pornography charges and even child rape

Rabbi Ariel Sadwin, Steen’s older boyfriend since their yeshiva days and
the director of Agudath Israel in Maryland, unsuccessfully tried to
save his beloved. So, Steen was briefly released from prison but then
immediately arrested again — a painful blow to Sadwin who just became
BJT’s “cover girl.” But Baltimore rabbi Yaakov Hopfer (the man who saved Eisemann when the latter’s pedophilic nature was publicly exposed) has outwitted everyone: He has sent out a letter,
where he never mentions Steen and just talks about some abstract
“terribly tragic event” and calls one of Steen’s companies “a holy
institution.” Hail to thee, Moshe Eisemann! Your apoplectic penis
may no longer penetrate human flesh but the satanic seeds sown in the
souls of those around you have yielded a vast devilish crop of
