Coalition parties vow to correct 'injustice' against Deri

Heads of coalition parties say Shas chairman's 'extraordinary abilities and vast experience needed by Israel more than ever' now.

“When they close the door on us, we’ll get in through the window. When they close the window we’ll break through the ceiling" Said SuperJew Deri!

The heads of the coalition parties issued a special announcement following the Supreme Court's decision disqualifying Shas chairman Aryeh Deri from serving as a minister.

"We received with shock, pain and great sorrow the verdict in the case of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Aryeh Deri. His extraordinary abilities and vast experience are needed by the State of Israel in these complex days more than ever," the parties stated.

"Beyond the severe personal injustice caused to Minister Deri himself, the verdict is a huge injustice to over two million citizens, the majority of the people, who voted in favor of a government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu in which Aryeh Deri will play a central and significant role. We will act in any legal way that is available to us and without delay, to correct the injustice and the severe damage caused to the democratic decision and the sovereignty of the people," the statement concluded.

The Likud party issued a media freeze following the ruling, though several MKs have already condemned the verdict.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Deri at his home following the ruling.
