In 2016, Torah Temimah agreed to pay an unprecedented $2.1 million
to 2 former students who charged that Kolko sexually assaulted them.
Moskowitz, who does not represent Kolko, is now defending Torah
Temimah against 3 other pending lawsuits by men who claim the rabbi
molested them as kids - and that the yeshiva knew of the abuse.
Kolko's death complicates the cases, Moskowitz said. "You have
grown men who claim that 40 or 50 years ago something happened, and now
the person alleged to have done it is not available."
But Niall MacGiollabhui, a Manhattan lawyer who represents
plaintiff David Framowitz, said, "It won't affect the case. At the end
of the day, there's little denying Kolko did what he did."
He added, "I'm sure some people think Kolko evaded a full measure
of justice, but I can tell you this: his epitaph has not been written,
and it's going to be written by his victims. How he will be remembered
is going to be determined by his victims."

In addition to Friday's charges, the rabbi faces multi-million dollar civil suits filed by three other alleged victims, who are now adults.
"Unfortunately, I anticipated there were going to be many more victims," said attorney Jeffrey Herman, who is representing the alleged victims.
Kolko was charged with four counts of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
"My client will be fine when he gets home for Shabbos," said Scott Tulman, Kolko's attorney.
Bail for Kolko was set at $5,000, and he was ordered to surrender his passport.
That erev Shabbos in 2006 was when someone wrote a comment at the time on UOJ that Avi Kolko was seen chauffeuring Yudi home.

This is besides that a complaint was filed 2 months ago in NY State Supreme Court that Dylan raped a 12 year old girl in 1965!
A small problem - the letter is dated Dec 2021 - last I checked it is still October 21

Israeli authorities have thwarted an attempt by around 150 members of the Lev Tahor cult to flee to an area near the Iran-Iraq border, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.
According to the Middle East Monitor, "dozens" of families in the cult were prevented from fleeing to Iran, where they had applied for asylum.
Kikar Hashabbat reported that at least three people left the main Lev Tahor group and moved to another location in Guatemala, due to concerns over entering Iran.
One of Lev Tahor's leaders told Kikar Hashabbat, "We will yet reach Iran, because in Guatemala, they are chasing after us."
Last week, families from Lev Tahor were seen in an airport, attempting to leave for Iran. According to the reports, the families' heads told security officials at the airport that they want to leave the country because they feel persecuted. The families also explained that due to their troubles in Guatemala, they plan to request asylum from Iran, but the airport security officials did not allow them to board the plane.
Orit Cohen, whose brother is part of the Lev Tahor cult, told 103 FM Radio that there are approximately 150 children, some of whom are not registered since they were born into the cult.
"No one knows, they have no passports, they switch their identities, names, and passports. Fourteen-year-old girls give birth," she told the radio station.
Cohen added, "Our families are trapped, they have no possibility of contacting us. We're all very worried about them, because this will be final."
A spokesman for Israel's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said only it's "classified" in response to inquiries whether UOJ has been providing information on escape attempts that he received from unnamed State intelligence agencies.
