Right, because there was no child abuse in atheistic societies like the USSR and China.
Seriously, abusers will abuse and they will use the tools available to protect themselves. If they're religious, they will use the Chofetz Chayim. If they're not, they'll find something else.
Dawkins one of many points --- if the parent "owns" the child according to religious law, ....that would apply to communists as well. But that was not the topic here.
There is something evil in religious societies that feel protection of child sexual abusers is more important than protecting children. How do these people atone for this sin on Yom Kippur?
