The more civilians we vaccinate and the faster we do so, the more lives we will save," Edelstein said. "The coronavirus endangers us all, the vaccines will save us all. There is no greater Pikuach Nefesh than this."

Vaccines on Shabbat? This is the position of Chief Rabbi David Lau

Chief Rabbi says permission to vaccinate in Shabbat will be considered when vaccinations are given in all hours of the day during the week.

(Of course, there needs to be a justification for Lau to keep his job. He is not smart enough to realize that the person getting vaccinated this Shabbat, could save his life in 2-3 months from now) PM

Coronavirus vaccine

The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, on Thursday evening published his position regarding the administration of coronavirus vaccines on Shabbat.

"The Chief Rabbi of Israel considers it very important to provide vaccines to the general public and even got vaccinated in public in order to encourage the public to get vaccinated," said a statement from Rabbi Lau's office.

The rabbi determined that as long as there are vaccinations during all hours of the day and night during the week, which in practice indicates an urgency to vaccinate as quickly as possible, it will be possible to consider allowing vaccinations on Shabbat as well.

However, at this stage, when vaccinations are not performed at all hours of the day and night during weekdays, there is no permit to do so on Shabbat, said the rabbi.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein instructed the Director-General of his ministry to work to provide vaccines 24/7, recruit manpower for this purpose, and reach a rate of more than 100,000 vaccines per day.

"The State of Israel is in a health campaign that has not been the same since the establishment of the state. In recent days mutations have been identified that infect at a rapid and unusual rate that we have not yet encountered and we are in a race against time.

The more civilians we vaccinate and the faster we do so, the more lives we will save," Edelstein said. "The coronavirus endangers us all, the vaccines will save us all. There is no greater Pikuach Nefesh than this."

As now being reported by Channel 13, the Ponivizh rosh yeshiva Rav Edelstein shlita poskened the vaccines should be given on Shabbos and he reached out to the Chief Rabbis of the Medina to ask them to not asser the Health Ministry from operating on Shabbos.

But some unnamed ra-bonim (Agudah FRESSERS instigated by Philly) had already gotten to the Chief Rabbis to pressure them into assering Shabbos vaccinations, so the Chief Rabbis are ignoring the Ponivizh rosh yeshiva!

Charles Kushner pardon revives ‘loathsome’ tale of tax evasion, sex

(AP) — Former NJ Gov Chris Christie called it “one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes” he ever prosecuted as US attorney.

After Charles Kushner discovered his brother-in-law cooperated with the Feds, the wealthy real estate executive, father of President Trump’s son-in-law Jared, hatched a scheme of revenge & intimidation.

Kushner hired a prostitute to lure his brother-in-law & have the encounter in a NJ motel recorded by hidden camera & sent to his own sister, the man’s wife.

The scheme didn’t work. Kushner later pleaded guilty to tax evasion & illegal campaign donations in a case tailor-made for tabloids.

On Wed Trump pardoned Kushner in a late hour clemency spree that includes a slew of aides & allies, among them 4 of 6 Trump associates convicted by Mueller. He granted clemency to nearly 50 people in the last week.

The White House cited Kushner’s charity since completing his sentence as the reason he deserves clemency.

“This record of reform & charity overshadows Mr. Kushner’s conviction & sentence for false tax returns, witness retaliation & false statements” to the FEC, the White House said, adding Kushner’s case is championed by Matt Schlapp, American Conservative Union chairman.

Not mentioned: Kushner’s relation to Jared Kushner, senior Trump adviser married to Trump daughter Ivanka, who inspired by his father in prison, pushed Trump to back criminal justice reform & has been an integral part of administration clemency efforts.

Christie didn't respond to a request for comment on Trump’s decision to pardon a man he sent to prison. But Christie, who headed Trump’s transition & advised Trump for years, made clear Kushner Sr deserved prison.

“Kushner pled guilty. He admitted crimes,” Christie told PBS last year as he promoted a book that blames the younger Kushner for his firing from Trump’s transition team. “What am I supposed to do as prosecutor? A guy hires a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, tapes it, sends the tape to his sister to intimidate her from testifying before a grand jury, do I need more justification? It’s one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes I prosecuted when I was US attorney.”

Kushner eventually pled guilty to 18 counts including tax evasion & witness tampering. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison — the most he could get under a plea deal, but less than Christie sought.

Kushner also paid $508,900 to the FEC for failing to obtain ok from partners whom $500,000+ in contributions were credited.

He since resumed his real estate career, including purchasing the famed Watchtower by the Brooklyn Bridge, former HQ of J’s Witnesses.

The younger Kushner talks openly how his father’s imprisonment impacted his life. He was in his early 20s, a law + business student when his father was sentenced. He suddenly had to run the family business while shuttling back & forth on weekends to see his father in Alabama.

“When you’re on the other side of the system, you feel helpless,” Jared Kushner said. “I felt I was on this side of the system, so how can I do whatever I can to be helpful to people going thru it” who deserve a 2nd chance.

Charles Kushner told The New York Times in 2018 he wasn’t interested in clemency, saying he'd “prefer not to have a pardon” as it'd garner publicity.

Translation

HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein publicized a psak din yesterday on being vaccinated vs coronavirus.

HaRav Zilberstein wrote the p’sak after meeting with Prof. Ron Balicer, of the Israel Health Ministry advisory team on COVID & other experts, on the effectiveness & safety of the vaccine.

Rav Zilberstein wrote since we don’t have a Beis Din who are oisek in refuah, the Aruch HaShulchan poskens that during these times we must rely on doctors approved by the govt to practice medicine.

The Rav continued that according to Mishlei 21:1 “Lev Melachim vSarim b’Yad Hashem” [Hashem controls the hearts of world leaders], since we see Hakodosh Baruch Hu instilled in the hearts of many kings & ministers’ to be willing to be the 1st vaccinated, it's is a sign the benefit of the vaccine outweighs the risk.”

“Therefore, these vaccines are as if they have approval of Beis Din, ergo we must be vaccinated - as if Beis Din says to be vaccinated.”

“There are those who claim risk of the virus is not high so it doesn’t justify great risk to be vaccinated. These claims can be answered that to evaluate high risk, it’s not enough to only count fatalities but one must also count the number of patients who were dangerously ill & recovered.”

“As explained in הגהות מיימוניות re eating on Yom Kippur, there’s no need to worry someone may die from it but if someone's at risk from not eating, we give him food. As written in Shulchan Aruch when a choleh needs to eat, if an expert doctor, even not Jewish, says if he doesn’t eat he'll be at risk, we give him food & there’s no need to say he might die.”

“Therefore since in the world there are millions who became sick & were at risk of becoming seriously ill, even if they eventually healed, the virus is considered an illness that endangered millions, so it’s clear even if the vaccine has risk, it's like any medication that has risk.”

“It’s definite the risk of the vaccine isn't great, unlike risk of the virus itself. Because if the vaccine's dangerous, govts wouldn’t allow it – ‘to exchange a cow for a donkey’ [to incur loss], but encourage vaccines based on fact that risk of vaccination is much more minimal than the virus.”

“Then being vaccinated is included in what the Torah says ‘רפא ירפא’ that a choleh should take medication for illness despite that medication has risk.”

Agudah Fresser Derangement Syndrome said...

The UTJ-Agudah Fressers are freaking out in the Knesset that the vaccines are being administered on Shabbos even after the Ponivizh rosh yeshiva poskened there is a chiyuv to do so on Shabbos.

R' Asher Weiss might be afraid of Fresser wrath because his heter for Shabbos vaccines was a whole dance with a whole lotta words in the style of Aaron Glatt.

Rav Weiss: Well ya know if someone is high risk or might infect someone high risk (which applies to everyone, wink wink) and they can't reschedule for a closer date in the vochens, then really they could get it on Shabbos, even if they have to get a goy to drive them there
