Rabbi Yisroel Belsky, an expert on kashrut for the Orthodox Union, told The Asbury Park Press: "When your child tells you something, you don't go straight to a prosecutor, you go to a Bais Din and let them examine the [evidence]."
The Queens Vaad protected Bryks for years even though the RCA expelled him (Bryks quit first so they couldn't claim that). The YU rabbis running the Queens Vaad didn't listen to the biggest posek in the YU oylam to throw out Bryks. After the press went public against them, they said ok, we will let his membership expire in 6 months.
Someone identifying himself as D.S. attorney is defending Bryks on the blogs against this article. Is it Daniel Schwartz from Monsey who is the lawyer for both Queens Vaad's Chaim Schwartz and Bryks's indirect relative Mordechai Tendler?

HERZLIA SYNAGOGUE TAKES DOWN PLAQUES DEDICATED IN HONOUR OF RABBI EPHRAIM BRYKS

As an Editor of a Jewish community publication, I can’t tell you how much I applaud the action of the Board of Directors of Herzlia–Adas Yeshurun Synagogue to remove all plaques that were previously dedicated in honour of Rabbi Bryks. Up until receiving an email to my personal address on September 13 notifying me mail of this action, I had been seriously considering writing an editorial during Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, the most important time of year for introspection as Jews, calling on the synagogue to take such action. I am relieved that this is not necessary, and only regret, as no doubt so many in our community do, that such action was not taken many many years ago.
In the email I received, Dr. Earl Hershfield, President of the Board of Herzlia wrote:
“In response to repeated requests, and after much deliberation, the Board of Directors of Herzlia – Adas Yeshurun has decided to remove all plaques on the Tree of Life in the Shul lobby dedicated in honour of [Rabbi] Ephraim Bryks.”
He also wrote “As a Shul, we have a responsibility to provide moral and ethical leadership for our community.”

Point 3 of the "Preliminary Statement" with its repetitive legalese launches into the type of unashamed slander against Rebecca Greher Cohen, the sister of Miriam Greher Cohen, that Michael Hersh feels that he was subjected to. In reality, nobody really cares about Michael Hersh at all. He is just another typical dysfunctional newly-religious baal teshuva that every religious person knows plagues the Orthodox world but would rather not speak about because everyone has their own worries and challenges in life.
But what makes Michael Hersh different is that by means of projecting his inner conflicts and dysfunctions onto the outside world, he achieves two initial aims, he gets attention for himself and over-inflates his importance.
The ONLY thing that has made Michael Hersh notorious in his community is his abuse of his two eldest sons, Isaac and Sol. Sol has been the quick witted one and long-ago figured out how to outfox his father'ss clutches and remain in safety, but Isaac gave in to his home-sickness and defied his father's banishment of him from home, came home, and was kidnapped and sent against his will to the boot camp at Tranquility Bay run by GREEDY for-profit Mormom hoodlums who make big bucks off this type of human misery.
It was this type of blatant child abuse that brought in the attention of the Greher family members and that Michael Hersh has the utter audacity to slander, that Rebecca Greher Cohen "had for years despised plaintiffs for no logical reason...spreading falsehoods, gossip, and defamatory statements about" Michael Hersh. Yeah, yeah.
Now what a load of trash that all is. How self-centered and retarded is this utter vile pack of lies? Michael Hersh wants to get away with provable mayhem, and now he wants to be paid $411 million for the consequences of his OWN mistakes! What religious Jew in Flatbush, Brooklyn or anywhere sends their own son to a concentration camp (yes, it is that, kids are abused like hell there and can ven die like rats, and no one cares, and that's why it was shut down!!!) in Jamaica and expects to be called "normal" and rightly self-righteous and assumes it's his and his wife's families' job to "shut up" and not care about the simple human and humane welfare of their own nephews, nieces, and grandchildren? In fact Michale Hersh wants to shut up the world, that's why he is suing anything he can, yet weirdly he has not sued his parents, in-laws and his own siblings who were his first and still are his strongest critics. Is this guy rational or what?
Rebecca Greher Cohen (backed by everyone in this case, including all the grandparents) should get an award for caring, for fulfilling the Torah's multiple-repeated command, "lo ta'amod al dam rei-echa" -- do not stand idly by while your BROTHER'S blood is being shed. But Michael Hersh does not give a crap, because he has managed to maneuver into the good graces of the ailing and partly senile dictatorial Rabbi Aron Schechter of Yeshiva Chaim Berlin to agree with him, even though not a single other rabbi backs this up.
