The best argument to oppose AI is to look at televison.
When one compares TV today to a couple of generations ago, one notices that the old stuff is just better. It's more imaginative, more genuine and more inspiring. Why? The best answer I heard is that those writers were raised on books while today's are raised on televsion. The older writers raised on books simply had better imaginations because they didn't have TV and movies to do the thinking for them. Today's stuff is all CGI because writers lack original imaginations.
Medical students used to have to memorize dozens of equations and have them ready to use at bedside. Calculating acid-base disorders was a special challenge. Today the biggest challenge is finding the equation in MDCalc and figuring out how to use it.
Now imagine what AI will do. It will not only finish off imagination but will destroy independent thought, logical reasoning and the ability to write comprehensibly. It will ruin what's left of people's mental capacities.
