The Bullet America Dodged
Here's a frightening story from London's Sunday Times:

It was intended to be the symbolic gesture at a global series of rock concerts next month to alert people to climate change. Al Gore, the former US presidential candidate turned climate doomsayer, had wanted a massive switch-off of lights by television audiences, but the National Grid has vetoed the idea.

The inconvenient truth, it says, is that the power surge when people switched their lights back on could cause disruptions in supply and even endanger hospital patients on life support machines.

It's a cute, funny story--until you consider that back in 2000, Gore came within a few hundred Florida votes of being elected president of the United States. Who knows what destructive and counterproductive policies he might have pursued? And the National Grid would have been powerless to stop him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Matrix

I wonder if the Matrix scriptwriters, the Wachowski brothers, know UOJ. There are so many parallels.

There is a conspiracy being run out of 42 Broadway to program the population. UOJ is like Morpheus who leads the Underground in fighting to restore humanity. UOJ readers are like Mr. Anderson who are shocked to their cores when they find out what the Agudah is doing and join the fight.

Belsky is like FBI Agent Smith. He gets to the point where he is completely "unplugged" and fights harder than the Agudah itself.

There is a guy with a white beard at the Agudah who controlls everything like in "Matrix Reloaded" where Anderson meets the architect of the Matrix.

In the Anime-style prequel called "Animatrix", the first guy, just a kid, who senses the corruption is all alone and powerless to fight. Since everyone in authority from FBI to Police to even school teachers are working for the Matrix, he doesn't stand a chance. The kid keeps receiving calls on his cellphone while in class from another yochid who figured it out. The teacher keeps growing angrier and warns he's in big trouble if he answers the phone. He finally answers and a voice warns him: "they know that you know - get out of the building right now". He looks out the window and sees police and federal agents piling into the building to arrest him. Because at this point there is no one else, he fails but sacrifices himself instead of being captured. This is Eli Greenwald before UOJ started the organized campaign.

A few comments about the topics of conversation:

1] Eugene Aronin is an outcast and on the fringe of the Chicago Orthodox community. All who see him look at him like a homeless beggar. The Kollel was Aronin's Last Stand. The Special Bais Din shot that out of the water. Most normal children know to stay away from a freakie guy like him.

The greater danger that must be dealt with is the coverup of the Yosef Meystel story by the Chicago Rabbis. He looks normal, is a gabbai, given all the honors of an upstanding member of society. Therefore he is a far greater risk to society. A parent has a harder job convincing a child of the clear and present danger of Meystel.

2] Regarding a Belsky or Kolko being in education in some community or other, it is very important to keep an eye on them. However, even if they are related, it is not neccasiily so that they follow their relatives beliefs and practices. Suspect but don't knock an innocent person.

Has UOJ heard any complaints about someone in that industry?

The same blog accepted a post from someone claiming that Eisemann was only let go by Ner Yisroel because of some improper behavior 30 years that did not reach the level of abuse and that he is not a molester.

http://sevenfatcow.wordpress.com/2007/06/10/if-enough-come-forth-something-will-be-done/

In 1982 I was an 11 year old camper in Gan Yisroel Montreal. One shabbos afternoon I was walking alone in the woods between the shul and the baseball field and I accidentally saw an older waiter with his pants around his ankles standing behind a tree and masturbating.

I tried to quietly walk away but he noticed me and ran up to me and told me to feel his balls.I said I dont want to feel your balls. Then he pinned my throat against a tree with his arm and said if I dont feel his balls he would kill me.

As an 11 year old I was naive and had no idea what sex was, but I did realize that I was violated. So I naturally did what I thought was the right thing and went back to my bunk and informed my counselor of what happened.I thought he would surely believe me, especially since I had red and purple marks on my neck from being thrown against a tree.

Not only did the counselor not believe me but he made fun of me,and threatened to throw me out of camp if I made up stories or told “loshon horah” about anyone.

Since my counselor who was supposed to protect me was not helping,I decided on a primitive form of street justice.I was going to let everyone in the camp know what this waiter did to me by embarrassing him in public. For the next few days, every time I saw the waiter in the lunchroom I would shout out “hey, do you want me to feel your balls”. He looked at his friends and started laughing nervously.I knew I was getting under his skin so i continued.”yeah, dont you want me to feel your balls again like you told me to do on shabbos”

The end result…..I was considered a danger to the camp and I was kicked out.

A few years later I saw this waiter again outside 770 wearing a hat and jacket. He recognized me too and walked the other way.But I was finally able to find out his name.I stored it in the back of my mind.

A few years after that, as an adult I heard his name mentioned in a conversation about child predators.I was told when he lived in Long Beach california he had raped many little boys.Entire families were destroyed by this pervert. There is a victim who is still institutionalized as an adult due to the trauma he faced by being raped. This victims family was torn apart after not being able to deal with the stress of the incident, and the parents eventually divorced.

In hindsight, I wish that my counselor and the staff of gan israel montreal would have done more to stop this pervert before he victimized others.I was only forced to touch his balls, but unfortunately other kids were forced at knifepoint to have anal sex with him.

Last I heard, this pervert was married with 4 children and living in Betar Israel.

His name is ben sherman, yemach shemoh.

To HSD,

If thats the guy you say did it to you, watch out, his Father is Big Lawyer in LA so be ready to have backup incase he brings you to court. Just FYI.

I will just note two things:

One of the abusers mentioned in the earlier post is still teaching in a Chabad yeshiva in Montreal. Chabad contacts, including well-placed rabbis, tell me this man is "cured." I told them "cured" or not, he still cannot be left alone around children and cannot be a teacher or in a position of authority over children or young adults.

Both abuse cases happened when the late Rebbe was both alive and well, fully in control of the Chabad movement. None of the abusers in question were turned over to the police. None were removed from teaching or unsupervised contact with children. Two have continued to abuse. One, the one that is "cured" may have stopped – but this is unclear, because there is at least one more recent allegation against him.
I hesitate to use these incidents to attack the Rebbe. But one must wonder why the Rebbe allowed these men to remain in Jewish education and in unsupervised contact with youth. Further, these men were never turned over to police and have no criminal records. For all anyone knows, these men may be abusing non-Jewish children

The intent of this blog right from the start was to create a fertile environment for change in the rabbinate, yeshiva systems, and organizations as to truth, reliabilty, integrity...all within the confines of the Torah.

I had to become "unorthodox" to create this environment.

The intent is NOT to go after every criminal Jew, every adulterer, every momzer. Just in the rabbinate,... SO WE CAN OPEN OUR EYES AND MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES TO OUR VERY FLAWED SYSTEM.

So boycott the singer(s)..

As far as Eismann goes...the Ner Israel PR machine is working overtime. They are worried silly about losing the house that R' Herman built!

Can't a guy get a decent kosher meal in jail?

http://www.geocities.com/three_strikes_legal/Moshe_Stein_Letter.html

Lt. Von Rader

Sir,
Recently I had (just) cause to complain about being offered non-Kosher food.

Subsequently you intimated that the meal in question was, in fact, Kosher.

As everybody knows, only a trained Rabbinical Supervisor can truly attest that the Laws of Kashrus have been followed in the preparation of a meal.

However — — — —

The offending meal was sealed by Saran-Wrap; But part of said Saran-Wrap had been removed before arrival at the “POD” — which meant that; Therefore; the meal was contaminated and could not possibly have been Kosher.

I correspond regularly with Rabbi Shmuel Spritzer of the World Lubavitch Organization of 770 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, New York 11213.

After sending him copies of my Grievance and then of your reply, he wrote to me and said (among other things), Quote:— “Since when is Lt. Von Rader an authority on Kosher Food?”—: unquote; Which causes me to very seriously doubt that you, Lt. Von Rader, are a Rabbinical Supervisor of the preparation of Kosher Food (and, to be a Rabbinical Supervisor, one must first be a Rabbi of course!)

THE REST OF THIS LETTER IS PRETTY REMARKABLE.

The Eichenstein crime family has come up with a new way to try to reclaim the crowds that used to come. Rabbi Eichenstein's Chicago center for Torah and Chessed has been losing people since Yossi Meystel began to be in charge of the kids in the kitchen.

Now the wise Rabbi has come up with a plan to buy the Bais Osher shul on Lincoln in Peterson Park for his son Pinchos, to sure up the numbers.

Rabbi Eichenstein's judgements, rationale and actions in both the Meystel and Weinhaus matters clearly show why the man should have retired ten years ago. Certainly we can not afford another Eichenstein in Peterson Park using his same backwards judgements.

The Meystel mistake is all the doing of Rabbi Eichenstein, not Rabbi Fuerst or others. Rabbi Eichenstein should be held accountable for putting Yossi in charge of the kitchen unsupervised, and Tzvi Bider should be held accountable for removing the Gabboim and putting Yossi and himself in that position.

By having a molester in charge of the Torah, Rabbi Eichenstein and Bider are SPITTING on the Torah of others.

Would that change if the Rebbe knew? He certainly knew about Raskin, and Chabad had a policy of field rabbis writing weekly, detailed reports and sending them to the Rebbe. The Rebbe often sent these back with his handwritten notes on them.

Do you think the Montreal rabbis did not do this? Do you think no one told the Rebbe?

Or could it be the Rebbe gave directives to protect the movement but not protect you?

For me, the point is that the Rebbe – for all his advertised "powers" – either had no idea what was happening to little boys under his care or did know and reacted in ways that are unacceptable.

But, as I wrote, I really did not want to mention this – largely because the impulse to protect the Rebbe's image is much stronger in Chabad than the impulse to protect any individual, including little children.

No matter how much you want change, that is the issue you will need to overcome to get change.

Posted by: Shmarya | June 11, 2007 at 12:54 PM

Shmarya I am aware that all of the Rebbes institutions sent him weekly reports of all their activities. But I cant imagine they would report any of their failures to him.I think the camp reports would inform the Rebbe how much mishnayos baal peh was studied and how many students went on mivtzoim on their off day and how many people thay were able to put tefilin on.

I do understand your point (although I respectfully dissagree) concerning the rebbe's purported ruach hakodesh or some other form of omniscience.

My belief is that the Rebbe was a great man, however he was just a man.

If the fish stinks from the head as another commenter wrote, than why blame the Rebbe.

The Internal Revenue Service has an ongoing investigation into the organization. In a controversial move, 15 of the 90 people scheduled to take part in the vote were given that right by WJC Secretary-General Stephen E. Herbits, even though they answer directly to him, officials in the organization said.

The inclusion of these WJC officials - who would make up one sixth of the voters - was being disputed by officials of the organization.

Lauder told top officials of the organization that he had a letter of resignation from Herbits that would be effective immediately, Hermesh said.

"There is no way to rehabilitate the organization if this destructive man remains in his position," Hermesh said.

Al Gore and Sruly Singer could not be reached for comment.

I hate to play spoiler when WJC is popping champagne corks and partying away, but according to the NY Times obit of Estee Lauder, the new WJC president is not Jewish. Estee was the product of a Jewish father and non-Jewish mother in secular Hungary. The new 2nd in command at WJC may not be Jewish either. One of Edgar Sr.'s wives was not Jewish. (Edgar Jr is now on his 2nd non-Jewish wife as well).

It's one thing if all these Jewish "leaders", Mort Zuckerman included, marry out of the faith, but are all the organizations going to be run by people who are not Jewish period?

You are so correct!!

But who are we dealing with???

For some reason Rabbi Eichenstein is unwilling to acknowledge the Yossi Meystel situation in his shul.

Rabbi Eichenstein has called abuse victims LIARS.

Even after having information corroborated by others he has emphatically proclamed the innocence of the abuser.

Rabbi Fuerst will bully, shout, and threaten the victims. In the end he will listen and try to remove the danger from the public.

Rabbi Levin tries his hardest to stop the abuse in the city. For some reason he chooses a low profile on these issues.

Rabbi Cohen has lost his backbone and ability to do anything right in regard to abuse. His daughter married a Neuberger and he has been downhill since then.

Rabbi Raccah is a tzaddik, but is still not widely acknowledged in the city.

Rabbi Zucker while he is learned has no psychological intuition, nor compassion. He follows whatever Rabbi Fuerst tells him to follow. Even after he uis proven wrong he won't admit his mistake.

Rabbi Zev Shandalov though connected to the Awareness Center, has declared at the dinner a few weeks ago, that Rabbi Eichenstein is his mentor.

As long as Rabbi Eichenstein is the acknowledged leading Rabbi in Chicago, the problems will only continue to grow.

Faker sends bogus weather reports to National Weather Service

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Someone has been submitting fictional reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service, causing unnecessary alerts and frightening people.
The areas affected have included Milwaukee, La Crosse, Chicago, and Lincoln, Ill., said Tom Schwein, chief of the National Weather Service's systems and facilities division for the central region in Kansas City, Mo.

The person started sending reports in mid-April through an online form on the service's website.

ON DEADLINE: Tracking the prankster

"We've been detecting a regular pattern of a person who has been submitting false severe weather reports that are constructed in a way that seem very realistic," Schwein said. "Whoever this person is seems to have knowledge of severe weather reports."

Archdiocese fires sex abuse critic

CHICAGO (AP) -- A Roman Catholic school principal who criticized the Archdiocese of Chicago for its handling of sexual abuse allegations against the school's former parish priest has been fired.

"I spoke up for children and would do it all over again," Barbara Westrick said Thursday after learning the archdiocese would not renew her contract at Our Lady of the Westside School.

Archdiocese spokeswoman Colleen Dolan said the four-year principal was fired because of her performance, not because she complained about the archdiocese's handling of accusations against the Rev. Daniel McCormack.

"This is an independent situation," Dolan said. "It has nothing to do with past history."

McCormack has pleaded not guilty to five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in allegations dating back to 2001 that he fondled five boys at the school and church.

Westrick said she never heard from the archdiocese or police after a boy's mother reported allegations of abuse to them in September 2005.

The former math teacher and basketball coach was not charged or removed as pastor until after Westrick told police, the archdiocese and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services about allegations one boy made to her in January 2006.

Spokane Diocese emerges from bankruptcy

By JOHN K. WILEY
Associated Press Writer

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- The Catholic Diocese of Spokane has emerged from bankruptcy 2 1/2 years after filing for Chapter 11 protection because of sex abuse cases. Now, Bishop William Skylstad and parishioners must raise $48 million to settle victims' claims.

"This is the end of a difficult chapter for the diocese and the start of a new day for it," diocese bankruptcy lawyer Greg Arpin said Friday. "We're very pleased to come out of this tragic and difficult period, and looking forward to a new life for the Catholic Church in Eastern Washington."

Skylstad, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, had no immediate comment, said the Rev. Steven Dublinski, a diocesan spokesman.

Paperwork certifying that the 95,000-member diocese had complied with requirements set forth in a bankruptcy reorganization plan was e-mailed to lawyers Thursday, effectively marking the end of bankruptcy, Arpin said.

He said the next step was to pay for the plan, which calls for dividing the $48 million among about 175 people who claimed they were sexually abused in the past by diocese clergy. The majority of claims involve sexual molestation of boys by priests, about nine of whom have been publicly identified.

Among the claimants is a woman who said she was sexually abused by Skylstad in the early 1960s. Skylstad has denied violating his vow of chastity and said an investigator hired by his lawyer found no credence in the woman's story.

Shawn Cross, another bankruptcy lawyer hired by the diocese, said he had no specifics on that claim, except that it "is not one of the ones rejected to date. It is going through the process."

About 35 victims who reached settlements with the diocese will receive payments within 45 to 60 days, while the remainder will begin receiving them by the end of the year, Arpin and Cross said. A blanket claim covers people who come forward in the future.

Victims will receive from $15,000 to $1.5 million each, depending on the severity and length of abuse. A former U.S. attorney is reviewing each claim to determine how much each person receives.

Insurance settlements of $20 million were forwarded to a bankruptcy trustee on Thursday.

Skylstad is raising $18 million through sales of property and contributions from Catholic entities and loans, while the diocese's 82 parishes are raising $10 million. Cross said nearly $24 million has been raised so far.

Bob Hailey, a Spokane lawyer and executive in a grass-roots capital campaign to help parishes raise their share of the settlement, said the effort was going "quite well." Parishes have an incentive to raise the money by Oct. 1 because interest begins accruing then, Cross said.

The Spokane Diocese is the smallest and poorest of five nationwide that have sought bankruptcy protection against clergy sex abuse lawsuits. The others are San Diego; Davenport, Iowa; Portland, Ore.; and Tucson, Ariz. Tucson has emerged from bankruptcy protection, while Portland's reorganization plan also has been approved.

Most dioceses in the United States have implemented new rules for reporting and dealing with clergy suspected of abusing children since the crisis unfolded five years ago.

Mike Shea, whose May 2002 lawsuit alleging he was molested in 1956 at St. Augustine Parish in Spokane helped force the bankruptcy, said Friday he was satisfied with the outcome.

The settlement requires Skylstad to write letters of apology to victims and their families, to allow victims to tell their stories in parishes where abuse occurred and to publicly support efforts to eliminate statutes of limitations on child abuse crimes.

"I accomplished what I wanted to do. What I wanted to do was to expose them, and boy, we did that," Shea said. "I want the truth. I want it exposed to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Shea said he wasn't sure if he would ask to address parishioners at St. Augustine.

"If I can see it might do some good, I think I'll do it," he said. "If we could wake up one more parent to keep an eye on their children, then it would be worth it."

However, when an audience member asked whether sex education could help to strengthen children’s knowledge of inappropriate behaviors and empower them to come forward if someone violated them, Mandel responded that sex education was “not something realistic” in a community that stresses modesty.

He told parents that the overwhelming majority of children who have experienced “unwanted touch” would go on to live happy, healthy lives, while only a “small percentage” of individuals would be permanently harmed by the abuse

Mandel also said that abusers could be treated for their perversions.

“An individual who abuses children and who participates in treatment can lead a successful life and be believed that they would no longer hurt children,” Mandel said.

When asked, in an interview the following day, whether such people could work with children again, Mandel evaded the question.

Reuven, challenged Moshe and Aharon's leadership. Moshe set the next day
for a showdown, hoping that the rebels would reconsider their rebellion.

2nd Aliya: After attempting to convince Korach to reconsider, Moshe
attempted to sway Dattan and Aviram. Moshe's efforts were rebuffed.

3rd Aliya: The next day Hashem instructed Moshe and the nation to separate
themselves from the tents of Korach, Dattan, and Aviram. Moshe proclaimed
that his and Aharon's leadership would be divinely confirmed through the
way in which Korach and his followers would die. Korach, Dattan, and
Aviram, along with their entire families were swallowed up by the earth,
while the 250 men from Reuven were consumed by a heavenly fire.

4th Aliya: A rebellion broke out among the people, and Aharon had to
intervene in order to stop the plague sent as a punishment against the
people. 14,700 people perished in the plague.

5th Aliya: Aharon's appointment as Kohain Gadol is reconfirmed through the
test of the staffs. Aharon's staff was the only staff that miraculously
sprouted almonds.

6th Aliya: Aharon's staff is placed in the Holy of Holies. The duties of
the Kohanim and Leviyim are stated along with a list of the Kohain's share
in the nations produce and live stock.

7th Aliya: The Levite's share of the nation's produce and the gifts given
by the Laviyim to the Kohanim are stated.

Summary of The Haftorah:
Haftorah Rosh Chodesh

This week's Haftorah is from Yishayah Chap. 66 and reflects the fact that
today is also Rosh Chodesh. Yishayah describes the ultimate downfall of
all our enemies during the war of Gog and Magog. The Navi explains that
this world is the manifestation of g-d's presence and glory. Yet, we are
incapable and sometimes unwilling to properly recognize G-d's manifest
presence. Even when the Bais Hamikdash stood the Bnai Yisroel did not
appreciate their opportunity to be close to G-d and serve Him. The Navi
forewarns that insincere expressions of devotion are tantamount to
offering blemished sacrifices and G-d will punish those who lack sincerity
and devotion.

Nevertheless, the institution of the Bais Hamikdash and prayer are our
only means for communication love and devotion. Therefore, those who truly
mourn for the absence of the Bais Hamikdash and the Temple services will
also merit to rejoice in her redemption and reconstruction. When the Bais
Hamikdash will be rebuilt the nation will again be able to witness the
Rosh Chodesh offering and service, and fully participate in expressing
their commitment

My girlfriend lives in Boro Park and was abused as a child after she got married the abuse kept coming back and she found her husband to be abusive. I dont think he was really abusive from what she told me but she decided he was so she went to Ohel Family Services in Boro Park so they set her up with a domestic violence counselor named Joan Hertz so they promised her to help her out in getting divorced so now she is divorced and lonely she lost her kids and has nothing and no more support from anyone. I am writing this so others should realize what could happen to you when you get involved with these organizations so they welcome you but in the end of the day you may be miserable and lonely. When they find out that you were abused they might use it to take your children away. Can you really trust these people. UOJ what do you think my girlfriend should have done and what can she do now

"Don't believe the man who tells you there are two sides to every question. There is only one side to the truth."

So wrote William Peter Hamilton, one of the first men to hold the job of editorial page editor of The Wall Street Journal, in the early decades of the last century.

Additional women came forward, accusing Rabbi Bryks of making unwanted sexual advances. These women and the mother of the young girl took their allegations to Rabbi Avraham Altein, the leader of the local Lubavich community and a supporter of the positions Rabbi Bryks had taken in the
past against the city's eruv and kosher food. After hearing their allegations, he counseled them not to go to the police or child family services. He told them to deal with the allegations internally with the synagogue board.

Despite this Altein allowed the Lubavitch community to keep their children (including his own) in Rabbi Bryks' school for several additional years. This was done of course after consultation and letters to the Rebbe's "Lieutenants". Nothing is done in Chabad without such consultations and authority.

Even if the Rebbe was unaware, his key trusted advisors were not.

My rebbe-the haileger Moshe Rabbeinu-tried EVERY lashon bakasha with Pharoh. When that did not work....you know the rest of the story.

I consider myself a Jew with a purpose. I could have had "leadership", I shunned it.

A true leader understands the techniques of milchama if you intend to win. You get down to the level of your enemy in order to beat them. There is nothing, "legal only", I will not do to win this milchama for our children and the klal! NOTHING!

There are mothers who should have their children taken away from them. It's difficult to take sides without knowing all the details of each particular case.

One woman in Boro Park kept coming around and nagging a store owner on 13th Ave, who she didn't even buy anything from, about her plight at home. The baal habusta sympathyzed and referred her to some professionals. It was determined that the woman did not have what it takes to care for her many children, who were subsequently taken away. The haggard woman kept returning to the store to berate the baal habusta who only meant to help and had no idea things were such that would lead to that outcome.

Is this the same Ari Parnes that the Feds nailed for bank fraud?

http://sec.gov/litigation/litreleases/lr17865.htm

Ari Parnes and Five Other Defendants Enjoined in SEC Enforcement Action
Defendants to Pay $890,000
Securities and Exchange Commission v. Ari Parnes, ADAR Equities, LLC, Shauel Seitler, Jacob Herman, Yezhak Dov Knoll, and Myron Raisman, 01 Civ. 0763 (LLS) (S.D.N.Y.)
The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it obtained permanent injunctions against all six defendants in this Commission enforcement action, and an order that the defendants pay a total of $890,000. The defendants are Ari Parnes; Parnes' company ADAR Equities, LLC; two ADAR employees, Shauel Seitler and Jacob Herman; former Datek Securities broker Yezhak Dov Knoll; and lawyer Myron Raisman. U.S. District Court Judge Louis L. Stanton entered final judgments against the defendants on November 7, 2002.

The Commission's complaint alleged two different schemes-an illegal offering scheme and a bank stock fraud scheme. The first scheme took illegal advantage of Regulation S, which permits U.S. issuers to offer and sell securities without registration to offshore investors under certain circumstances. The Commission's complaint alleged that Parnes, aided by employees at his company ADAR Equities, including Herman and Seitler, and by Datek Securities broker Knoll, used Reg S offerings to reap illegal profits for himself and others, in violation of the securities registration provisions of the Securities Act of 1933 ("Securities Act"). The complaint also alleged that without registering as brokers or dealers, Parnes, Herman, and Seitler, on behalf of ADAR, participated in private placements of the securities of twelve issuers in violation of the broker-dealer registration provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 ("Exchange Act").

The Court, in connection with the allegations related to the first scheme, permanently enjoined Parnes, Seitler, and Herman from violating Sections 7(f) and 15(a) of the Exchange Act and Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the Securities Act, permanently enjoined ADAR from violating Section 15(a) of the Exchange Act and Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the Securities Act, and permanently enjoined Knoll from violating Section 10(b) of the Exchange Act and Rule 10b-5 thereunder, and Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the Securities Act. The defendants consented, without admitting or denying the allegations, to the entry of the final judgments.

In a related administrative action, Knoll, without admitting or denying the Commission's findings, consented to the entry of a Commission order barring him from association with any broker or dealer with the right to reapply after three years.

With respect to the second scheme, involving bank stock fraud, the Commission's complaint alleged that Parnes, aided by Raisman, profited by illegally buying subscription rights from depositors of banks converting from mutual to stock form. The Court, in connection with the allegations related to the second scheme, permanently enjoined Parnes and Raisman from violating Section 10(b) of the Exchange Act and Rule 10b-5 thereunder. The defendants consented, without admitting or denying the allegations, to the entry of the final judgments.

In addition to the permanent injunctions, the Court ordered Parnes to pay a total of $650,000, including disgorgement, prejudgment interest and a civil penalty, ordered ADAR, Seitler, Herman and Raisman each to pay a $50,000 civil penalty and ordered Knoll to pay a $40,000 civil penalty.

Singer advised Julius Berman, the conference chairman, that he does not plan to seek re-election at the board of directors meeting in July, according to a conference news release.

Singer has been under a cloud since his dismissal from the World Jewish Congress in March amid allegations of financial impropriety. Several of the conference’s 22 member organizations subsequently announced they could not support having Singer stay on as president.

http://www.nysun.com/article/56335

Billionaires Edgar Bronfman Sr. and Leonard Lauder are among the New York City-based "farmers" who have received federal farm subsidies in the past several years, according to a new set of data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Between 2003 and 2005, Mr. Bronfman received $17,455 in subsidies for his farm in Virginia's Albemarle County, and Mr. Lauder received $3,015.58 between 2003 and 2004 through his share of an organic farm in Idaho, the data show. Mr. Lauder no longer owns shares of the farm and has stopped receiving subsidies, aides said. Messages left at Mr. Bronfman's office were not returned.

Until last year, the names of Messrs. Bronfman and Lauder were concealed behind farming companies and other ownership structures, but on a new set of records the USDA connects each owner of a company to the subsidies they received. Officials at a public interest group, Environmental Working Group, made the records available on its Web site this morning.

"It shows that we have a farm subsidy program that doesn't have much to do with keeping farmers on the land," the president of the group, Ken Cook, said. "They've gotten the money from you and me in the name of saving family farms and it's actually being used by big companies to gobble up the farms around them."

Ha Ha Ha!!!

Ya gotta love it!

The gangsta in the Windy City, who is the Novominsker's brother-in-law has requested today for people to refer to him as the Zidichover, not by Rabbi Eichenstein. This way he deludes himself to think that all the previous posts are not refering to him.

This follows a pattern of first calling his shul Chessed L'Avrohom, then Mosdos Machzikei Hadas, to Chicago Center of Torah and Chessed. Since most instances took place under the title of Mosdos, he deludes himself to think that he is not liable.

Just refer to yourself as what you are: EichenSWINE. Just throw Yossi Meystel out by Shabbos, June 30. All victims PROMISE there will be no suit brought against the Rav, the shul or the organization.

This is the last, best and final offer.

I'll explain what is my complaint. Firstly, I am with UOJ and I recognize that the oposition is corrupted! no, it's not enough, the oposition is CORRUPTED!!!
However, in Milhama, especially in strategy, they are by far better then UOJ. It is correct that UOJ caught them in surprise. But they regrouped, banned the internet in order to protect their community from any farther "bad" influence and took measures to stregthen and enforce their grip on that community.
Now, the attacks, especial;ly the one I responded to, are no more then teenager pranks for them. They sting no more then a mouskito and they do not hurt or weaken them.
What I thought UOJ could and should have done is to seize the moment, consolidate power by leading us, all of us, in targeted attacks in the manin media, on corrupted organizations and individuals that actually could be broought down in timely fasion (rather then attacking them on this forum that only few read)
Once the leadership of the oposition begin to crumble, some alternative new organizations could be built and take over. This is what true leaders do when it's time to change the system.
ZA

BTW, I specifically do not use any book published by Feldheim, CIT and Artscroll in English. If it is an original English text, then it's decidedly shallow and unidimensional. And if it is based on known Hebrew text, the adherance between the English and the Hebrew source is in many cases coincidental (such as that the word 'the' in English would occasionally coinside with the 'He Ha-Yedi'a' in Hebrew or that both the Hebrew source and the English 'Rendering' would refer to persons who share the same name, rabinical title, geographical proximity and gender but nothing much more
ZA
